Grocery Store Question

This year I will need to do a grocery store stop on our way back to WDW from Ponta Gorda. We will be coming NE from the SW of WDW. I'm wondering what grocery store I should go to. Does anyone have a suggestion on what store would be the best one to stop at? Looking at a google map I'm thinking Publix Super Market at Champions Gate Village. Is anyone familiar with this location?

Also, do you have to have your own grocery bags? Here in NJ the stores no longer supply grocery bags which is why I'm asking the question. Thanks in advance.

Publix at Champion Gate is close. They have bags that they supply.
Thanks so much for your reply. The last few years we brought a cooler along with us filled with what we needed for our stay but this year will be different so a grocery store stop will be necessary. I appreciate your response letting me know the location I was considering is a good choice. :flower1:

Publix is currently constructing new store in Celebration at end of World Drive .
I promise to keep everybody updated for their plans.
This week, I drove thru new construction for the model homes in the new Island Village and drove thru parking lot of the new MarketPlace across from Celebration High School.
I normally shop at Celebration Publix now and keep asking them When’s the new location going to Open !

Warning about Champions Gate… they have reconfigured the roads as you exit interstate ramps, etc .
I suggest view GPS services to prepare .
Traffic seems to always back up along I-4 both ways North & South

Thanks for the tip. Where is the location of the Celebration Publix? Can you give the roads it sits on, and do you know when it will be open? I will be shopping 1/29/23...not sure if the new store will be open at that time.

So, I'm looking at a google map and I see a Publix located at Water Tower Shops, I don't think that's the store you are talking about. I don't see any Publix at the end of World Drive. The Publix located at Water Tower Shops looks like it might be a little complicated to enter/exit.

You might also consider (map out) the Publix at Orange Lake Town Center, 14928 E Orange Lake Blvd, Kissimmee, FL 34747. It's farther off of I-4 than the Champions Gate Publix is, but it's closer to the WDW resorts (close to tollroad 429 & Hwy 192), so if you don't have a cooler to pack your cold items in, it's a shorter drive without insulation for them. It's our favorite Publix, but we're coming from north of WDW instead of from SW as you'll be, so it may be too far out of your way.
