grocery stop

I am debating using a towncar service for my next trip to WDW. I see that with FL Tours you can take advantage of a stop at a grocery store. Is there a particular store they stop at, or do you have to tell them where you want to go?:confused3

Would it be cheaper to just ship a package down with a few items, or is the grocery store they use reasonable?

TIA!

I don't know about Florida Tours specifically but several years ago we used Tiffany Town Cars. The driver took us to a nice, reasonable Publix and even let us use his Publix "discount card".
Good Luck

We've used a couple of different car services in the past. I don't recall which grocery store we visited but we always indicated we would need a liquor store stop too...I know the liquor store and grocery store were essentially side by side. Prices may be slightly higher but still reasonable in my opinion.

We use a different car service and we're coming from the train station in Kissimmee and we always have the driver stop at the Publix in route, liquor store right next door. Publix seems to be the grocery store of Florida....they serve Boars Head products, prices are reasonable...quick in and our, decent selection of wines and beer and the liquor store next door....heaven sent over Disney's drink prices....we load up...even buy a styrofoam cheap cooler, even though we stay deluxe and there's a fridge....we put stuff on ice and as we use items our of the fridge, replace them with chilled stuff out of the cooler...I mean we load up at the store...salami, ham, bologna, cheeses, rolls...love making sandwiches....and pack a collapsable cooler for taking to the pool...put wine and alcohol in used water bottles...take your refill mug and hit the food court, add your booze and laugh at the pool bar prices....just remember to buy your beer in cans...no glass at the pool....

Tiffany Towncar chooses a grocery store based on where your hotel is located. I don't think they can expect you to tell them where to stop -- a lot of us wouldn't know where the stores are located.

There are lots of threads about shipping a package to the resorts. I think there's a sticky on the resort board. Basically, the resorts with convention centers attached charge a fee for handling the package. The fee is based on the weight of the package:
1 to 4 pounds: $3
5 to 20 pounds: $5
21 to 70 pounds: $10
over 70 pounds: $0.70 per pound.

And shipping is not cheap. FedEx charged me $42.79 to ship a 10-pound box measuring 18” x 12” x 12” high via FedEx Express Saver (third business day, Saturday delivery not available). That was their cheapest air service.

Thanks everyone! It does sound like it would be chepaer to do a grocery stop than ship down a package. That is, if I decide I'd rather fork over $130 instead of waiting on a Magical Express bus. And that will depend on what time my flight in to Orlando ends up being.

Decisions, decisions.:scratchin

Thanks again!
