Hi all, 2 questions that I have seen before but can't for the life of me find again -

1. What's the service that you can order food/groceries from and have them delivered to your room? Anyone have any thoughts on whether this is worth it, and anything you wish you'd known beforehand? We are going for 5 days with a 3.5 year old, but a couple days my DH will have DD by himself and he's nervous...

2. What's the name of the reliable sitter service again, and how far in advance do we need to book? We need someone to put our DD to bed one night while we go out for EMH in the evening.

Thanks in advance!

Many people here recommended Garden Grocer for grocery delivery - I was impressed with their website and their follow up phone call. (Don't know about the babysitter service though!)

1. We've used WeGoShop.com many times and very satisfied. They shop locally and use reward cards. You send them a list and they'll shop for exactly what you want.
2. Kids Nite Out was great. The sitter came with a suitcase of toys. My son loved it so much he asked if he could do it again that week. I don't know how far in advance you have to book.

Thanks everyone! So for garden grocer, do you have have to be in your room to receive the delivery? We get in in the late morning on a Thursday, and I know check in isn't officially until 3, but we have not had a problem in the past getting into our room earlier. Any recommendations? Many thanks!

Also, for those of you who have done this with small kids, what foods/meals do you tend to get? We have 1 ADR a day, usually dinner, so what do you recommend otherwise? Thanks in advance!

I have a Garden Grocer order placed for May and I believe they deliver to the bellhop and you go get them there. They will put the refrigerated things in the refrigerator for you.

After we placed our Garden Grocer order online, they called about 15 minutes later to follow up and one of the questions they asked was would we be there when the order was placed so I don't think you have to be there.

Just got back and we used Garden Grocer. When ordering, I entered our resort and I think it stated they typically delivered between 12pm-4p. Our checkin was for 3p. We got a text at noon stating our groceries had been delivered. Soon after we got a text from Disney that our room wasn't ready yet. I had did online check in and requested a room on first floor and closest to parking lot & food court. Our room ended up being second door away from exit on first floor and was about as close as you could get to food court and parking. (Glad we weren't first room by the exit door).
Anyways, went to concierge when we arrived at 3p and they said they would send groceries to room... Nearly 2 hours later, they still weren't in my room and I sent my husband back to concierge. I was disappointed that it took Disney nearly 3 hours to deliver my groceries when I got a text saying they had arrived at noon.
My children love Stonyfield organic baby/toddler yogurt. I ordered them 2 6 packs and also an 8 pack of yogurt for me and my mom (yoplait). If I'm not mistaken the resort was charging nearly $3 for one container of one single serving of Greek yogurt. I also ordered a lot of fruit- bananas (they were the biggest bananas I've ever seen), grapes, gala apples, and sliced apples in packets. The Gala apples were for my mom and she commented that they were very good. I also ordered a few potatoes that are wrapped to make a "baked potato" in the microwave. I had packed with me the GOGO squeezes for my kids but they are young, raisins, gold fish and I had brought juices from home. I had also brought Gatorade and water from home (wish I had brought more Gatorade with us). I had also brought instant grits and cherrios from home. I had also ordered milk whole and skim (my mom is diabetic). I ordered the whole milk for my toddlers in 1/2 gallons because I was afraid a gallon wouldn't fit. I ordered one 1/2 gallon in the Horizon brand because the shelf life is typically longer & other 1/2 gallon in store brand which we opened first. I easily had $40 worth of groceries.

I don't have any experience with babysitting, however we have used Garden Grocer and have had great experiences.

We also used Garden Grocer on our trip we took in September. They were great and even refunded our purchase on bananas that were way past their culinary peak and even delivered us new ones at no cost. The groceries were delivered before we arrived at the hotel and bellhop brought them to our room when we requested them.

I am using Garden Grocer for our May trip. Can I ask how much I should tip the bellhop when he/she delivers the groceries to our room?

I have used both Garden Grocers and WegoShop. I was pleased with both services. The advantage of Wegoshop they will shop where you want them to go if you have any preference. The disadvantage with WeGoShop you have to meet the shopper to pay for the groceries. Garden Grocers have a much more limited selection of items but you pay them online and they will deliver to the bell services without you being there.

I am thinking of trying Orlando Grocery Express. The prices are slightly lower than Garden Grocers and they have a much larger selection of items to choose than Garden Grocers. I haven't seen too many reviews on Disboards with this supplier, so I waiting for another month before I decide to go with them.

We are using Garden Grocer for our trip last week. We were originally going with Strollers and Groceries, but didn't hear great things about them. Heard nothing but great things about Garden Grocer.

We used Kids Nite Out for a night race in October and they were amazing. They do book up though if there is an event that night, so I would book as far out as you can.
