grocery question

Wondering which on-line delivery service most of you folks use, also is there somewhere in the neighborhood of BWV to buy beer without paying WDW prices. I know there is a gas station nearby but do they sell cases of beer, and is the price reasonable. Thanks.

We usually have a car and go to a Publix off site for better prices. I do know that several folks here use Wegoshop for grocery delivery. I'm sure someone will be along to tell about it shortly. I would say the farther you get off property, the less the prices will be.

that gas station is Hess and its prices are very reasonable.

but their $20 extra charge is not worth it for just a case of beer.

when you use wegoshop or even the DVC online ordering, how do you tell them when to bring the food, what if you don't get into your room until 5:00pm? What do you do with the food?

I don't have them deliver the food until 5:00pm or even 6pm -then I know I have a room.

I never ask for a deliver before 4pm.

When you order from Wegoshop, do you meet them at the entrance (where the bellhops and valet parking are)? I'm guessing they are not allowed to deliver to the villas themselves? If you must meet them at the entrance, do they call when they near the resort (which I have found that the pizza delivery folks do) so that you know exactly when to be there to meet them?

I was browsing their site and noted with some amusement that on the order form there is a "how did you hear about us" question, and on the list of choices is the DisBoards. I suspect the folks that service WDW get a lot of their referrals from the DIS!

We used We Go Shop this June when we were staying at POFQ!

There is a place on the order form where you can tell them at what time you would like for them to deliver, and they will confirm that with you. They will have your phone number when you are at Disney. They like to have a cell phone number. They delievered my items ON TIME!

They phoned me before they arrived on my cell phone. The person delivered the items to the room. I did not have to wait at security.

I thought I had a lot of items, but he said that he has delivered a ton more to people staying at POFQ.

The good thing about We Go Shop is that you can be specific with your order. We had them shop at the Super Wal Mart for our food. It saved us time and money for if we had shopped at another grocery store the prices would have been higher. So I thought the delivery charge was well worth it.

They shop the same day so it is good. For example, I ordered Sara Lee turkey and Land O lakes cheese from the deli, and the date stamped was the same day they were delivering it to me.
We also got things like the croissants that you can get at 10/$2.50. I think it does not hurt to know what Wal Mart carries or at any other store you will have WGS pick up your items. that way you can easily make out your list.

I used wegoshop in August and loved it. I wasn't able to get a 5pm delivery because they were booked at that time. They told me that they would happily deliver it to bell services, but I would have to pay by credit card and that would be a 3% surcharge. I was fine with that, I really didn't feel like doing the grocery store thing on vacation. Well, I was able to check into my room at 9:30 on Sunday 8/14. Grammie, DD, and I had breakfast at Spoodles, then took our time and went over to Epcot. Around 2:30, just as I was thinking DD needed a nap, my cell phone rings and it's Eric from wegoshop. He had just finished my shopping and was wondering if I had my room number yet. I said I'm at Epcot and leaving right now, I'll meet you at the room. 10 minutes later, I'm at my room and Eric is waiting by the door. All of my groceries were in plastic containers, my cold items in coolers. It was great. He even told me that he had walmart open a new case of bananas b/c he didn't like the look of the ones on display. And, the best thing is I saved the 3% because I was there and able to pay cash.

We also used wegoshop in July. They delivered right to our room. We will definiately use them again. The best part is that if you plan on being out when they deliver, just tell the desk upon checkin that you will be charging wegoshop to your room, and they do the rest!
