I am so sorry for what you are going through !!My mother had ulcerated colitis and I remember the acute and sudden attacks she would have !! She was hospitalized when I was about 4 years old and following that followed a diet of no fuits or vegetables for 8 years !! However she did not tell her doctor this and while it delayed the eventual surgery ,it also left her with a vitamin defiency that caused severe sight loss in later years !!I am sure they ahve so much better treatments now , but I know only to well what ahorrible disease it is !!

I am so sorry for what you are going through !!My mother had ulcerated colitis and I remember the acute and sudden attacks she would have !! I keep telling myself it could be worse. I never realized what a common disease it is!! I always worry about the food I put into my mouth but my doctor says it really has nothing to do with diet. I have to believe him now because I was very very careful lately & ended up with the worse flare up in 8 years. I am now trying a new medicine called Remicade which as to be infused through IV every 8 weeks. Lets hope it does the trick. If not then surgery is in my future. Please keep fingers crossed that this med works!!
