Our family of eight are scheduled to stay at the villas of WL from August 10th through the 19th. We have the dining plan as part of our package, but would like to stock the villa for breakfast and late night snacks. Has anyone used the Shop We Go delivery service? The delivery service website mentions a delivery fee, but doesn't state what it may be. Is this service worth it, or are the on-site store prices comparable? I have thought about a cab, but that may be expensive as well. Does WL have cars to rent to go shopping? Is anything left in the villa like dish or laundry soap when quests have departed, left by the mousekeepers?

We just used gardengrocer.com for the first time in July and were very pleased with their service. Everything came right on time and they were even able to purchase beer and wine. They had a small delivery fee (I think it was $10 or $15 for the whole order which ran over $200). We would definitely use them again.

we used we go shop last sept and were very pleased with the service and the convenience. they gave us the receipt so we saw exactly what we were paying for and charged us 15.00 for the shopping and delivery. well worth it for us.

We use WeGoShop.com. I was confused by the wording of the delivery fee the first time also. The "shop and delivery" cost for groceries up to $100 is $17; $22 for $100-200. BUT--when she delivered, she showed us where she used coupons and split the savings with us. I thought that was great and she was definitely a better coupon clipper than me!!
Also, we shopped at Walmart for us so we could order beer (huge savings) and a styrofoam cooler.
She was very friendly and reliable. We definitely will keep using Wegoshop.
She brought exactly what we ordered and we were very specific about brands/flavors.

Thanks for the great replies!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone know what the tipping guidelines are? Also, how are they making any money, the prices seems just slightly elevated over our local supermarkets.

I too have to recommend Gardengrocer.com
They brought all our cold stuff packed in a cooler with ice not just one of those cold/hot bags I have seen others use.

Not sure how much you are looking to buy but...we looked into it and well the cost for the service is at leat $17 plus tip for any order up to $100...and the fee increases if you spend more...we are going to be there from August 4th through August 20th so we did a bunch of research to figure out the cheapest way to get stuff...and here is what we came up with...

We are shipping via FedEx most of our non-perishable item (ie. ones we can get cheaper here at home in bulk) like swim diapers, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, individually packed snacks from Sam's, etc. directly to the hotel so it will be there for us when we check-in..sending on Monday and we arrive on Friday ...we are shipping about 50 lbs worth of stuff and it is going to cost us about $17 to ship...with the savings in diapers alone that I can get here vs. there, the shipping was paid for and all the other stuff we threw in was a bonus... :cool1:

Because we are going to be there in August when it is HOT and drinking water is a must...we order cases of water from Staples...they deliver directly to the hotel in one business day and if you sign up for their free rewards program shipping is FREE...so we are ordering a few cases staggered throughout our trip there for $5.89 a case/24 16.9 oz bottles...we freeze some and then refrigerate some and in the AM when we leave for the park we take a few cold ones and a few frozen ones...

Then regarding perishable items like milk, bread, fresh baked snacks, lunch meat, soda and yes beer for the adults...we priced out the delivery services versus renting a car for a day from Alamo...in the end we are renting a car from Alamo from their Walt Disney World Dolphin location for a 24 hour period and getting a compact car and the total cost with tax and all is only $18.99 (13.99/per day)...the trick is the 24 hour period has to be Sunday pickup though Thursday pickup...not only is it the same price as if your order is $100 or less...but cheaper if $100 or more plus we can pick what we want while we are at the store and we have a car to go to the Nike Outlet with now...which is worth the trip if you have a car to go to... :moped:

Just our experience and plans...we have been going to Disney now for over 20 years for at least 2 weeks a year or more and this is the best plan we have come up with yet

Good luck!! :grouphug:

Going Nov 30 for 10 days and need snacks for 2 year old and lots of water for us. Anyone still doing the grocery deliveries at All Stars???

We used GardenGrocer back in July of this year. Excellent quality and service. I believe there is a flat rate for a delivery charge and if you spend over $200, then delivery is free. We really enjoyed not having to go to a grocery store and spending our vacation time shopping. IIRC, I thought they had said to us if we needed anything additional, a delivery fee would not apply during our stay. They also purchased the alcohol we requested (we like a white wine that is not a popular brand). We look forward to using them again next summer.

we used GardenGrocer, and we were disappointed by them, they omitted several items from our order, and when it was highlighted they said they would return with them. We were staying for 3 weeks and despite daily attempts to contact them for 2 weeks, we heard no more from them, we did not receive the balance of our order, and we have had no replies to emails I have sent since our return to the UK in mid October,

I will not use them again.

Just got back from bc and we used garden grocer and were very pleased. The delivery fee was $12 with a $40 minimum. I paid with a credit card on-line and there was a spot for tip. We did not see the delivery person; the food was left with the conceirge who put whatever necessary foods in frig.

Remember with the meal plan you get a ton of food! One box of enten. donuts is one snack! One sleeve of bagels/english muffins is one snack! Large bag of chips is one snack! You will be surprised how many snack credits you will have left! Cereal is also one snack (includes the milk). Besides water, we didn't use much of the food we ordered.

Have a great time!

No, it's NOT free - even with the Staples Rewards card - unless you spend at least $50 on one shipment.
