Garden Grocer is so expensive but seems lots of issues with correct Instacart orders? Dizzy Dolphin has a $50 minimum but we are not ordering that much since it's only a 4 night trip. Thanks.

Watching since I'm considering a grocery order. Right now I'm leaning towards Amazon since I have Prime, but to be honest I'm not sure how cost effective it's going to be since Whole Foods is more expensive than the other stores. Making practice carts and it's a toss up between higher grocery costs and delivery fees.

Agree Garden Grocer is expensive, but I love their advance ordering process. One less thing to worry about when I hit the ground.

I always use Instacart. They order from the local Publix.

I use to use them a lot but the last two times they canceled on me. I give a hefty tip (I live in NY so use to tipping) and our last order was so big with also alcohol (although two different people use to do food/alcohol) for three couples I gave up.
When I called to say I still hadn't heard from anyone, they said I canceled my order that morning, which when they gave me the time I was on the plane so someone didn't feel like shopping.

I did like using them but now gun shy.

I've used Amazon Prime Now for the past three trips, and had no issue at all. You can track the delivery driver on the app, so you can head back to the resort once you see the driver a few stops away from the resort. Or you can just add a note to drop the groceries off at Bell Services, and they will hold them for you.

Yes, Garden Grocer is expensive, but I have used them three times and the order is always right and complete and delivered on time. Peace of mind and taking care of the ordering ahead of time are worth it for me.

We used Garden Grocer in the past and never had any issues with them. they are expensive.
In the last few years, we have rented a car and stop at Target on the way to WDW and get everything we need.
We have also used Black car services in the past which also would stop at a grocery store on the way to WDW.

I use Shipt. They individually shop for you and will contact you with any substitutions. The last couple times we've used them our person has been an ex Disney cast member and we're very familiar with the area so they were very fast. You can choose from several different stores in the area also so you're not stuck with whatever store The shopper wants to buy from.

I shop for Shipt, Instacart, and Spark Driver (Walmart) in Tulsa. I also use all three services.

Your best service is going to be from Shipt, IMO.

I also wouldn't hesitate to use Garden Grocer.

Can anyone explain why many delivery services charge $12-$14 for a case of water when it's normally $3-5? Is it weight? Finding the water?

It would be helpful to know what context you're seeing that the case of water cost that much. Is that just a case of water plus their delivery fee? Or is that what they're saying that the case of water costs and then delivery fee on top of that? Because I use Shipt, and you pay whatever price the store selling items for but then you just pay the small fee and a tip.

Many services have a minimum order of $35 to avoid high fees. That may be the issue.

Via Instacart, you pay in-store prices for Walmart and other stores. You can check on their website for the specifics of the area.

Via Shipt, you pay in-store prices for Target (Target owns Shipt).

Via Walmart with delivery, you pay in-store prices.

All of those require the minimum order or you'll pay high prices.

With Instacart, you can do the monthly $9.99 for as many FREE deliveries as you want. You still have to hit that $35 minimum, though.

Garden Grocer and Dizzy Dolphin both charge over $10 for a case of water, plus their minimums and delivery fees as an example. Because we are arriving late (flight lands at 11:30pm) we can't meet anyone like Walmart or Instacart which require you to be there for delivery. And given it's a short vacation, I'm not able to do a first in the morning delivery. I understand minimum and delivery fees. I'm just honestly surprised at the cost of a case through some of the "private" companies (if that's the right word?) Even looking at EFEO on FB...they are higher but not this high. It's more just a question of why.

We like instacart with Publix. You get all the sales, including the buy 1 get 1s. You can even order custom subs and they are delicious.

Ah. I misunderstood your question. This is crazy although they may do it because it is a highly requested item and labor is greater.

I think the garden groceries works on a different concept. I don't know if it's changed in the last few years but the last time we ordered from them, you ordered from their website so they set their own prices. The other ones like Shipt, you order from what the store has and then are charged a delivery fee and tip. With garden grocer they are making their money by charging more, especially for the popular items because, I believe after a certain amount they do not charge for delivery. They have to make their money somehow.

We used Shipt 3 times a few weeks ago. Bought stuff from target, very reasonable and they text you while they shop for substitutions. They also texted many times with an ETA. Highly recommend. After the first order we got a coupon for a free delivery.

We've used Amazon Prime Now a few times successfully. I think they have a $35 minimum. You can also choose to order from Whole Foods or Amazon - we usually choose everything from Amazon and it's a little bit cheaper, though the selection may not always be what you would hope for.
