Grocery delivery - quality ok?

I'm not from the US and am visiting in a couple of weeks - what's your preferred grocery delivery service (I'll be at Saratoga Springs Resort) or are they all pretty reasonable? I have an Amzon Fresh subscription though have no experience of using it so not sure what to expect in terms of produce quality for eg. Here at home, grocery delivery can be a bit hit-and-miss (poor quality fruit/veg for eg) so I just want to know if any of the services are a bit more hit than miss or if they're all pretty reliable. Thanks!

I would say its a gamble no matter which grocery service. Its all on the order picker who is picking your stuff. Maybe you can put something in notes for "quality " of fruits, eg hard apples and green bananas.

I mean it’s always going to be something of a crapshoot, because you’re relying on an individual shopper, but as someone who uses Instacart a lot just in daily life, more often than not I’m satisfied with the quality of produce I get. Once in a while you’ll get people going for speed vs quality but the vast majority of gig shoppers don’t want to risk poor ratings by giving you bad produce. Anything less than 5 stars can impact their ability to choose assignments. I find the store you order from makes the most difference, and I’ve never had issues with the Publix on Universal Blvd. But I would avoid the big box stores for any fresh produce.

You might have access to Whole Food with your Amazon Fresh subscription too.
I’ve found the quality of their produce and meats pretty decent oh and expensive too. One of their nicknames is “Whole Paycheck” .
Since you’ll be in FL, Publix is another goody.

It has come to my attention that many don’t know how to pick fruit and I mean the store buyer not the subscription’s picker; I avoid ordering melons as a consequence.

It helps that a lot of things (although not everything) is in season right now and Orlando is a pretty high population/high grocery story volume type of place, so things are moving quickly. Nothing is perfect, but I agree with @kylenne experiences are generally more satisfactory than not.

When we order produce for delivery, we order things the shopper can't mess up too much. Like bananas/clementines. Just don't accidentally order 5 lbs of bananas like my friend did when she meant to order 5 bananas.

And as @kylenne says the store matters more than the shopper. There are stores around where I live that I won't buy the produce from even in person because it's never any good (somehow the town has 3 different supermarkets plus a whole foods plus a trader joes)

Ugh, I did this with Garden Grocer one time. It was so many freakin’ bananas.

I use Whole Foods delivery for WDW stays (through Amazon). As others have said, no matter where you are, produce/fruit, will be hit or miss. For fruit, I only order bananas and mandarin oranges and have good luck with those from Whole Foods in Orlando.

I've used a couple different ones - including Amazon Fresh. The thing I have learned with Amazon Fresh is after making my cart - making sure I am checking it right before I schedule the order to make sure things are in stock. At times - when I have noticed something going in and out of stock leading up to my delivery day - I've placed a similar item in the cart so I don't risk not getting it at all. I've always over ordered what I "need" - but I've saved SO much money compared to eating Disney food - I don't care if some goes to waste.

In general, though, I've had good luck with all the services.
