Planning on eating breakfast and lunch in the room and have heard about garden grocer but is it worth it to rent a car for a day and go to the local grocery? Is there a Walmart close?

There are two walmarts (and a super target) within a 15 minute drive of the resorts.

That being said, I'd honestly choose garden grocer- that way you don't have to spend your time on grocery shopping.

We used We Go Shop. totally worth it to not have to take time out of your vacation. As long as you know what you want.

it depends on how much you're going to buy -you can weigh the cost of the rental vs the delivery cost - that said - we've found that while we could probably get a bargain price on some items - the advantages of not having to shop is worth going to garden grocer -

As someone else pointed out- compare the cost of a car rental for a day against the delivery charge of whichever delivery company you choose. Then add in the cost of your time if you choose to do your own shopping.

I'm on vacation- I don't want to be in a grocery store instead of in MK.

I've used Garden Grocer 3 times, the most recent being about 3 weeks ago.

Excellent service and the delivery fee and slightly higher prices than I might pay if I shopped myself were well worth the convenience.

They delivered our order while we were in the parks. Bell services held everything till we got back.

Easy as can be.

Have groceries delivered. The time and hassle getting a rental car just to grocery shop isn't worth it at all, if that's the only reason you'd rent a car.

DD lives in Clermont across from the Walmart at the 192 and 27. We have shopped there, @ Super Target, Publix and Winn-Dixie and believe me, you will be much better off using a shopping service. You won't find any type of Disney Magic in any of these places and will wonder why Floridians aren't very friendly when compared to the CMs in the World! Much, much better to stay immersed in the "magic!"

I think it depends on if you know what you'll want and how many people are in your party. If it's just you or a few people and you know what you'll want I'd go yourself that way you don't have to pay the delivery fee. We use Peapod sometimes here at home but you have order a minimum amount and sometimes the delivery fee just isn't worth it!

I see you are posting your questions on the theme parks board. Post your questions on the board that relates to your questions and you will get more responses.

We've used WeGoShop 3 times and had a great experience each time...we love that we don't have to take any of our vacation time off to get groceries...they just meet us at a time we choose & we go from there. We also like WeGoShop because they will shop at our preferred store (We like Super Target)

Absolutely no way is it worth it to rent a car just to buy groceries. Use Garden Grocer (that's what we used) or another delivery service. In fact, even if you already had a car I wouldn't recommend wasting your valuable vacation time going grocery shopping.

We will use Garden Grocer because taxis to publix and Walmart will be ATROCIOUS depending on what resort you stay at.

I am originally from Kissimmee even if you took the city bus it would cost you 4.00 per person and 1hour of time+ shopping time.

Garden grocer sells beer and food!

Sounds good to me!

WeGoShop definitely cheaper on delivery but how do you know how much things cost? I dont see a drop down for groceries to choose from like GardenGrocer has. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Thx

Wegoshop has some insane fees. If you order 200 dollars of stuff from Garden Grocer, delivery is free.

I don't think the cost of renting the car plus the time invovled to go get the car, shop, and return the call will equal the savings you would get by shopping yourself. Just call Garden Grocer. It will likely be cheper and defintely easier in the long run.

Sorry it took so long to reply....you get a receipt when you get your groceries, but they don't list the prices on their site. If you look at weekly ads you can get a feel for what prices are. For us, Super Target & Publix (We've had them shop at both) are similar to what our local grocery chain charges. For planning purposes I use my local stores prices as a guide and figure that plus their delivery fee for the cost. When they deliver you can pay them by check or in cash and they will give you the receipt. Hope that helps...
