Several years ago, I read about grocery delivery services that would ship groceries to your resort.

Since we're doing Magical express on our summer trip, and they don't stop at Publix, I was wondering if this might still be an option.

Thanks for any info!

There are 2 popular services here on the DIS, GardenGrocer.com and wegoshop.com
We have used wegoshop.com 5 times and always been completely satisfied. You are offered a choice of stores and you list everything that you want. The cost is the cost of the grocieries plus a delivery fee (and tip). In October the delivery fee was $17 and I am sure we saved that over shopping in the Disney Gift Shop. wegoshop.com does not have a minimum order cost.
We order breakfast things, juices, coffee, water, soda, beer, wine, cheese and crackers, and snacks.
I have found the Garden Grocer web site harder to use. I believe they also have a $50 minimum, but I think there delivery fee may be less.
Have a great trip.

Another vote for wegoshop.com .We have used them several times and have been very satisfied. Marge Peck is great to work with. They will also bring adult beverages as well. We stay in a villa for 12 days so it is really worth it to have someone else do my shopping. Then I really feel like I'm on vacation.:beach:

Garden Grocer gets my vote. We used them 2 weeks ago and things went perfect. The charge for delivery was $12. They even made a special stop for alcohol. I had breakfast items, diapers, wipes, snacks, milk, juice & delivered. It was well worth it for us.

We used Garden Grocer for the first time in April and it was great. There was a minimum order amount but we had no trouble hitting that with our family of 4!! We had diapers/wipes, water, milk, some fruit, snacky items delivered. The only issue we had was we ordered a case of 16 oz. water and they delivered a 12 pack of 8 oz. water. I called them back and they immediately sent the right water over and let us keep the other too! We will use them again when we go next year!

We used Garden Grocer last week when we went, and they were great. They sent us a drink that was diet, and I called to tell them that I didn't order diet. They quickly exchanged our beverage with no additional charge. We will use Garden Grocer the next time we stay.

How do they ship milk and keep it cold? Our DD is a big milk drinker and I hate to have to pay resort prices.

I usually ship dry items down to the hotel. It saves tons of room in my luggage and is so convenient. I ship all overnight diapers or diapers, a few juice boxes (I freeze them and carry 3 or 4 to the park with us for when the little guys cannot wait and are just dying of thirst!)and boxes of raisins and nut snacks or granola bars. I also ship things like new toothbrushes, disposable sippy cups, travel toothpaste, sunsccreen and other toiletries etc that I discard when we leave. It makes packing much easier and I can track the package and ensure it arrives befire we get there. The hotels have always accomodated and held the package for me and brought it to our room when we check in - they usually just ask you to note your check in date on the box. Water you may want to buy when you arrive - but a few travel cereal boxes and pop tarts can be thrown in easily. Have a great trip!

Will he drink Parmalat boxes? My oldest son was almost solely a milk drinker for quite some time. I found Parmalat milk boxes at the grocery store and always traveled with a few of these and it worked out well.

We've used WeGoShop lots of times and have always been very pleqsed with them. If your 7 days or less going, I beleive you need to call them and place your order, otherwise you can email it in.

Just curious - with the cold items, are they taken to your room for you? I requested a fridge and wondered if they will put it in there for us.

Bell services or luggage services does have a fridge to keep cold things cold.

Also the resorts do sell 1/2 gallons of milk-most often in the gift shop. When I was there in January it was $2.99-the same price as gardengrocer.

I have been happy with gardengrocer and plan to use them on my next trip.

I think I'm leaning towards wegoshop.

I contacted Marge, the owner with a question last summer. I asked whether it was possible for her to hit a Walmart type of store and pick up a cheap umbrella stroller. It might come in handy for our 5 year old, but not handy enough to justify transporting one from NY. She said it wouldn't be a problem.

I'm still toying with the idea.

No she is very pickly and will only drink regular milk and they do sell it at the Garden Grocer. I was just wondering how they kept it cold while a guest was waiting for the room to be ready..... Dry ice?

If you are not at the resort when they make the delivery or your room isn't ready there is a fridge at Bell Services that they put the cold stuff in.

The resort gift shops and the stroller rentals in the parks sell a nice umbrella stroller for about $40.

Thanks for the great info!

How can anyone do Disney without the DIS board?
