Groceries at VB

We want to grill steaks while we are at VB. Where is a good place to get really good steaks. We usually buy our steaks at Sams. We got some steaks last time we were at VB at one of the markets and they were very thin and not good. Need info, please. Thanks

Go north on Route 1 for Publix as the first store which is nice, or head on up the road about 10 more minutes for Walmart grocery, which get thier steaks at the same place as Sams Club. Otherwise, I don't know a local butcher to recommend, but you could check the phone book.

Are you driving? I'd pack up something I really like from home and take it with me. (If frozen, wrap layers and layers of newspaper around it...this is what we do with shrimp from the gulf).

Publix has a nice meat selection (not cheap!). Their butcher will trim for you or take special requests. We generally buy our steaks/meat from Costco...which are excellent. Personally, I don't think the meats at Walmart are anywhere near the quality that Costco has. I haven't been to a Sams since Costco came to town...so I can't really make a disinction there.

I did find a butcher shop online...but it's in Naples.

I'd have to second Publix....

I was impressed with their selection of meats and seafoods the last time we went to VB....

I wasn't too keen on Walmart's selection....

I'd check with the front desk on your way to shop... The CM's pretty much are all local residents and know all of the good markets..
