When you say " a few bags filled with" do you mean groceries distributed among a few of your bags that are packed with other things, or do you mean literally a few extra bags of groceries along with your luggage? If you mean literally extra bags of groceries in addition to your luggage, I don't think the airlines will let you do this since there are limits on how many pieces you can have.
What we did was put a box of Pop Tarts in each of the kids' backpacks, and a box of granola bars or cereal bars in each of our other carry-ons. We didn't take that many groceries so it worked out fine. If you're planning on more groceries than that, you'd probably do better to either have them shipped to your resort or using an online grocer. Or, if you're taking a towncar to your resort from the airport, most of them offer the option of a free grocery stop. I know that Florida Tours, the company I use, has this option.
