'grizzly man' documentary

I know what you meant, it was just a joke. not in good taste, but a joke nonetheless. :)
Okay, then in that case my apologies to you.

It's just seems like lately you never know around here. The simplest comment will spark a 10 page hate thread. :confused3

Alright I'll be quiet now. :teeth:

I thought that somewhere in the film there was a mention of Timothy Treadwill having been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, and having refused to take his medications, because he didn't like the way they made him feel. Or am I confusing different movies again? Anyway, as other posters have mentioned, you won't hear or see anything from the attack. I thought that Werner Herzog, (the director) handled it very sensitively. BTW, did anyone see that Herzog was the person who pulled Joaquin Phoenix out of his car after it lost its brakes and crashed last week? :goodvibes
Also, while we're on a the subject of movies, I just saw "In Her Shoes" last night and loved it! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

what is the movie about?

I was totally fascinated by Grizzly Man. There was just something about it that really grabbed my attention and interest. Tredwell definately had some serious issues, no doubt about it. But he also had some kind of bizarre gift, I think, or he wouldn't have lasted as long as he did. Maybe equal parts fruitcake and genius. :confused3 Definately a very, very bizarre guy. Anyway, I thought it was just incredible and very well done. I was completely drawn into the story. Like someone else said, sort of like watching a train wreck.

IMO, he came off as crazy and narcissistic.

You don't protect wild animals by interacting with them. They come to trust humans, which they shouldn't, and that lack of fear on their part puts them in danger. I have no doubt that's why several have been killed in that area since his death.

These animals came to accept him because he was not threatening and they left him alone because they weren't hungry. As soon as he stayed past the season where food was plentiful, he became the food. REALLY DUMB for someone who had been observing them for years.

I thought I would love it, but I didn't. I didn't even watch the end. I thought the guy was a complete nutcase. Pus, it bothered me the way he baby talked to the animals.

But, can anyone tell me how it ended? Did they play the audio tape of him being attacked? I thought I read that they didn't.

I totally agree...he put those grizzlies in more danger for the rest of their lives...what a moron!
I learned as much from the park rangers in Yellowstone years ago......

May his death be an example to the hug-a bear idiots that will surely try his stunts.

After the first 15 minutes of the movie I was clearly rooting for the grizzlies.

That man-child was a self absorbed egomaniac that ultimately caused the death of animals he was supposed to protect.

By the way, I tend to see alot of Independent film - many of which are documentaries. I wholeheartedly suggest MURDERBALL. It is out on DVD now. It showcases the sport of quadraplegic rugby (a paralympic caliber sport). These men have armor plated wheelchairs and with what limited function they have, they play a rough and tumble game. I thought the movie was inspirational. I clearly look at the wheelchairbound differently now. It deserves its' R rating though. The language can be rough and they speak a fair amount about sexuality and quads.

The guy was a NUTSO FREAK!!! Darwinism at work...I can't believe it took THAT long.

I saw this too. The wierd part for me is that my brother has been to the exact spot in Alaska where Treadwill was. He went there during a wild life adventure a few years ago. He has always loved animals, but thankfully he was with experts who knew what they were doing and he never did anything crazy. He told me a couple of weeks ago that he watched the movie and thought he recognized the area! He then discovered he had been there. He had wanted to do this for years and it was a once-in-a lifetime experience for him.. I hope so because he scared the heck out of me!! He got some amazing video himself. And this is a guy who is a fellow Disney Nut!! I think he should just stick to the Aminal Kingdom.
