Gringotts, diagon, just got back

Just got back from 3 days. Yes the wait is always 120 to 200 minutes. On our last day while we were standing there they opened the singles line, my son and I got in line and were in the ride in 20 minutes (still sat next to each other). Just remember your not talking to each other on the ride so if you are on other cars and have to wait for each other it will save you 2 to 3 hours of waiting. The train was only a 20 minute wait on average. And yes it was crowded everyelse but very doable.

I have been wondering what the train is like. How many people are crammed into one car on the train? Is it awkward?

Each carriage sits 8 people plenty of room

The train car is like a real train car. In each compartment, there are two seats facing each other, with the aisle outside the door. Each seat/row has 4 individual seats, so it's 4 people facing 4 people. Once, we were the only 3 people in our car.

How did you like the ride? Compared to other universal and disney rides

A wonderfully done experience for the whole family. I'm a Disney lover at heart - and not a big HP fan - there is nothing else IMO at either parks (both DIS and Universal) that can compare.

The rides are short, but the cars, story, attention to detail, and entire experience (in both directions) -- it's truly a raise of the awesome bar IMO .

At the present time they allow food and drinks on the Hogwarts express. They currently even have a small shop in Kings Cross Station selling food and Drinks while you're in the Queue.

Excellent! Now you have me wanting to do the same thing when I go in October! Must do.

While the single rider line seems to be a lot faster, do you end up missing a lot of the cool things in the queue? Is the over all experience still pretty awesome if you skip over all those things like the goblins and the elevator by going through the single rider?

I wouldn't ride single line for the first ride. It skips nearly the entire queue, bills office and the elevator. You still see the stairs and loading area which are fun too.

Even for early entry?

Do you mind if I ask if you did early entry and when you arrived?

We are going Aug 26th-29th. Our first visit ever. Do we go to Diagon (Gringotts)first and then back to IOA or do we do Diagon one day and the other part of HP another morning Need some guidance please .

We went in 2012 to see Hogsmeade and we were there by 7am (early entry) because we were staying on property. Between 7am and 9am it was wonderful. We rode everything with no waits and shopped with plenty of room. 9am came around and we couldn't even get into the shops anymore. It was wall-to-wall people.

We are going next month and we plan on doing Diagon Alley early the first morning. The next morning nice and early we're visiting Hogsmeade. I think if we try to do both in one day it will just get way too crowded. Actually, everyone seemed to head to WWOHP and the rest of the parks were pretty doable. We rode Despicable Me and a few other rides with minimal wait times.
