Grills reasturant by the Port?

Can anyone who has eaten at Grills tell me if they get really crowded on the days the ships leave? We cruise on the wonder but want to go the night before and eat at grills and watch the Magic leave port. Also we are staying at the Holiday Inn Express does anyone know how to get to Grills from there? Thanks

We've done Grills before both of our Wonder cruises. It is a great way to start off your vacation. It does get very crowded before the ships sail, especially if there is a fishing tournament that day as what happened to us in May of 2002. They don't take reservations so get there early and try to grab a table outside for the best view. They usually have a live band on the weekend to liven things up as well. Often when the Magic goes by she'll blow her horn!

Grills is fabulous! But yes, get there early. We were able to be seated right away (LUCKY) with our party of 9 but we got there at 5pm. Now we were on the Magic so she obviously wasn't sailing by at 5ish! I'd try to get there by 4:30 if possible. Just have a drink and appetizer and order a bit later but at least you'd have a table and view!

Thanks for the replys...we were going to get there around 4:30ish. We were not sure if we had to go earlier then that. Is it pretty easy to get to from A1A? We are staying at the Holiday inn the night before and will be coming from there. Thanks

We got there about 4:40 and were seated right away, but not in front of the windows or on the deck, so we had to walk down to see the ship, which the waitress said was OK, but I was careful not to block anyone's view.
If we had waited 10 min. to be seated 3 better tables opened up.

You will know who I am, I will be the one trying to jump off the docks to get on the ship...LOL I am so excited this is our first cruise. I will wave, have a great trip!

Thanks for all the help, I think I will see if I can wait to get down a table down by the water. Cant hurt to ask if they think one will be opening up when we get there. The next 2 weeks is going to go so slow. Thanks again
