Grilling areas at the resorts

I am not sure where to ask this question so I will toss it to the planning board. My family has three trips coming up in Oct 08, Jan 09 and May 09. We usually take our own food and use the kitchen but these trips may present a bit of a problem for that in the respect of keeping frozen things frozen and refrig stuff refriged. One thing we take most trips is grilled chicken breasts or hamburgers and it always goes over well. My question is whether SSR, OKW and BWV has grilling areas? We can purchase the meat there but I just wonder if I could grill it.

Thanks.

I know that OKW has charcoal grills near each pool. They are the kind found in most public parks. The resort store carries the charcoal. I would think the other resorts have some grilling areas as well.

Yes they have grilling areas. I know that the BWV's have grills out by the quiet pool. Not sure where the others are located.

Have fun.

Just remember you are not permitted to grill on your patio/balcony. That's in the Public Offering Statement.

OKW and BWV has grills by the quiet pools so you'd want to request one of those areas. I'm not remembering whether there are grills by the Grandstand pool but I THINK so. To my knowledge, there are no grills by the main pool either location. Both have those type of smaller metal grills with metal grates that swing up and have a spring on the side handles to keep them cooler, much like many rest areas have. BWV used to have 2 larger brick grills but I think there's only one now. Someone recently said there were a couple of grills at BWV near the tennis court's but I don't think that's accurate. All grills are charcoal type.

If you don't mind me asking, why is this a problem?

We are going to be staying Saturday night on both the Oct 08 and Jan 09 trips and we will be staying away from a fridge/freezer. The point values are simply too high for us to budget a DVC stay on a Friday or Saturday. We can ice the coolers down but the DVC villa may not be ready till after 4. We are just uncomfortable leaving them in a car or away from a freezer that long.

Any suggestions?

On the day of your check in you can have Bell Services hold your food. They have refers and freezers and will deliver your food to your room when you are ready.

That is great to know ... I guess it is only the day of check in. I mean that at times we stay at a non dvc resort on Saturday then move "Home" on Sunday. Any chance they would do this the day before? I assume no ...

I would think they would only hold your food on day of check in.

Just want to add there are grills by quiet pool at SSR as well. Just saw them last month by the Paddocks near the covered pavillon/playground.
