Grilled cheese sandwiches.. What's your pleasure?

When you cook your grilled cheese, put your heat really low. I put mine on the 3. Let it heat up and then put your sandwich on, it will take a while to cook, but it will be perfectly golden and everything will be perfectly melted and your meat will be warm/hot. If your heat is too high, it won't cook all the way through before burning.

Thank you!!!! I do tend to put the heat up too high!!

Grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup. And we are a family of dippers! The kids had this for lunch yesterday! Oh, and it has to be white bread. The rest of the time we eat wheat, but grilled cheese must be white!

Eating one for breakfast as I type. It's ham, turkey, and swiss on sour dough. I've been craving a Monte Cristo for days. So I did a healthy alternative version.

Another dipper here. Depending on the cheese it's either ranch dressing or ketchup. I'm not even a bread eater--I just want that grilled cheese some days. Especially now with the weather getting cooler. ;)

When I was a kid my Mom would make open faced grilled cheese sandwiches: Velveeta (is it really chesse? lol), crispy bacon, Dad would also have a slice of tomato, and she would stick it under the broiler and get it really gooey but crisp on top and serve with soup.

I am having dinner at Mom's tonight, I wonder if she has any Velveeta?

A grilled ham and cheese, nothing else.

Another tip I use is to put a lid over the sandwich to help melt the cheese faster. not a really tight fitting lid, just covered enough to keep some of the heat in.

We skip the dipping ... we put the ketchup directly on the grilled cheese before grilling. Yummm.

We also eat the grilled cheese with the tomato soup ... very very good.

Grilled cheese sandwich with a side order of grapes:lovestruc

MMMMMMMMM Havarti. I love Havarti, it's soooooooo good!!

I like plain grilled cheese cut into triangles and eaten w/tomato soup. YUM!! I also like grilled ham and cheese cut into triangles and eaten w/tomato soup, sometimes I dip, sometimes I don't. I also like my tuna grilled with cheese but I usually only do that at Subway, I will have to try it at home......:) I also like to have chips & pickles on the side when I eat any type of sandwich. :)

I didn't see my favorite listed yet so I thought I chime in

I love grilled cheese served with baked beans on the plate - so the beans sort of spread over the plate and the bread gets kind of like dipped in the baked beans.

Delish!!!

Yummy.. grilled cheese with tomato slices..or tomato soup! Anddddd...tuna melts..(grilled cheese with tuna). This is making me hungry ..lol

With Provolone cheese and green apple slices. Got the idea from Rachael Ray. Its really good. I put the apple slices between two slices of cheese between two slices of crusty bread and grilled. YUM!

I like grilled cheese with mozzerella with a little bit of oregano and tomato on the side I like it with tomato soup or some fruit like apples on the side.

I haven't had it in awhile so I'm thinking maybe tomorrow night for dinner we'll have to have grilled cheese and tomato soup. We all love dipping our sandwich in the soup along with Ritz crackers. I love a grilled cheese made on italian bread with black forest ham and gruyere cheese. Also dill pickles on the side are great with it too.

We do grilled cheese lots of different ways. One of my favorites that hasn't been mentioned yet is with a few spinach leaves in there -- even the kids will eat their spinach when I put it on a grilled cheese sandwich.

After reading this thread though, I'm thinking I may be adding some tomato as well.

Oh, and our favorite side is tomato soup.

LOVE grilled cheese made w/ooey gooey colby jack and hot tomato soup for dipping! :goodvibes
Sliced fresh garden tomatoes on it are added bonus!

2nd fave is tuna melt w/sour cream & onion chips! :thumbsup2

Grilled cheese (American cheese) with brown sugar between the slices. Yum!!

For whomever asked about heating up the meat, DH panbrowns his meat first (usually deli ham) just to crisp it up and heat it slightly, then cooks it within the grilled cheese like normal.

I like it best with velveeta individually wrapped slices, real (spreadable) butter, and english muffin bread. (Nothing healthy, but yum!)

Really? That's very unusual.. Think I'll make that for my DGD (my taste-tester) and see what she thinks..:goodvibes

Lots of great different variations here..:thumbsup2
