Hey there, fellow Disney lovers! I just discovered this awesome board, and had to sign up! A few days ago I booked a Disney World vacation for me and my parents, who are in their 70's now. This will be my fifth trip to Disney World, their fourth trip, and the last time we were there was about 17 years ago or so. That was the first time we ever stayed at one of the Disney resorts, and it was such a great experience that we've always talked about going again. Well, I want them to be able to go while they still have some "get up and go" left, so we're going for Easter (I know! Crazy time, but I teach school and it's the best time for me). We'll be there four nights and are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. We stayed at the Coronado last time and loved it, but wanted to try somewhere different this time. Caribbean looks nice and is priced right, so I chose that one. We've got park-hopper passes for three days of our stay, and the deluxe dining plan, and I've been working on an itinerary already, mostly based around restaurants and fireworks shows, LOL! My parents won't be into riding many rides, except some of the slower/calmer ones, which is fine by me. I'm hoping to give them both a relaxing and fun vacation. And yes, I do feel a bit like Clark Griswold getting all OCD about my vacation plans! LOL!

So, anyway, I've already lurked enough to know this place has a wealth of great information! Happy to be here, and look forward to learning more!

Wow 17 years is a long time to be away from the mouse. You definitely need a Disney fix! I hope you guys have a wonderful vacation.

I know! I couldn't believe it when I started figuring out how long it had been. Disney World is truly one of my earliest memories as a child. I think my first visit had to be around 1978! I was four. I went twice more as a kid, once included a cruise to the Bahamas, and then my first "grown up" trip to Disney 17 years ago. That was the best trip EVER! My parents have always been so great, and I'm really hoping to give them a wonderful vacation.
I'm not married and have no kids, so I'm excited that my folks want to go. They're still pretty spunky, and they have a healthy love for the Mouse themselves!
