Hi All,

Getting excited for this trip!!

A few questions:

1. Is it easy to find contact lens solution in Greece? My husband has contacts. I'm not sure how to plan for the saline and cleaners he will need for the trip. We are extending the trip another week so we will need enough to last 3 weeks.

2. Water shoes. My daughter wants to wear flip flops. I have no idea if there is hiking and swimming combined. Thus, is a sturdier shoe/sandal more practical?

Thanks!

The Volcano walk is not difficult but I don't think it would be fun in flip flops. I wore sandals. You are perfect in activewear (shorts, capris, t-shirts) that are great for hot weather and a sundress or two. The trip is very casual and amazing! Have a great time.

1) I would suggest trying to buy travel size of whatever contact solutions your husband uses before the trip and taking it with you. I have gas perm contacts and just take my travel size solution with me. I find that is easier than trying to find the brand I use when I am on vacation.

2) As the OP said, I wouldn't recommend hiking the volcano in flip flops. I wore my keen sandals and wound up with rocks all in my shoes. Most other people had on sneakers. However, Landon wore his keen's with socks and didn't seem to have a problem. If your daughter swims in the Mediterranean she can wear water shoes or swim in her bare feet. The only time we had a problem was when we tried to stand in the hot springs. You're basically standing on rocks. The only other place she may need shoes is at Kamari Beach. The beach has rocks only(no sand) and you have to climb over rocks to get into/out of the water.

I second this!

Plus, for #1, all the labels will be in Greek. Unless you know Greek, you may have a hard time finding exactly what you need.

Bring your own with you.

Why ...... You know your brand & as Sayhello has pointed out you might not find your brand or it could be the same but with a different label.

Also You might not have time to go looking for a pharmacy ( NO CVS or Wallgreens ) But

you might see a Green Cross Light ( A Pharmacy ) somewhere.

When I was in Greece I had a difficult time finding contact solution and a case. I would recommend bringing enough for the trip. Are you checking a bag?

Hi Seashell

Just saw your post...We have been traveling for the last several years with only carry on baggage. It's so wonderful not to worry about whether our bags will arrive at our destination.
I may have to bite the bullet this time.

Do you pack yours in checked luggage? What size is allowed? We need 3 weeks worth.
