Has anyone been to the new Great wolf lodge in the Pocono's??

We got a flyer today in the mail and this place looks like so much fun - it has an indoor water park and a lot of things to do with the kids. Has anyone ever been to this one or one in another part of the country? Would you recommend it?

Nobody has been to this one yet because it's not open. It looks nice from the outside but I can tell you that their prices are way overwpriced.

I've been to the one in Wisconsin Dells 2 times. My DD loves it, so does her fav.cousin. If money is an object - try to find an off-peak time to go. If your children are not in school yet - the rates drop dramatically on Sun-Thurs. Another good time to try if your children are in school are some of their "off days." For example - if they are off on a Friday - if you can go Thursday night - it'll be much cheaper than a Friday.

I took DD and my niece there the couple of days before school started this fall, and we got a rate of $119/night plus taxes for the 2 queen bed room. Most likely - we'll never be there at peak rates- I am just too cheap!

This year - I treated myself to a manicure in the Aveda spa, haven't had one of those since my wedding about 15 years ago.

Are they putting in a Wiley's Woods? DD and DNiece enjoyed this too.

We may be going the night before Thanksgiving. Even their grand opening special is atleast $200 a night.

Thanks for the info - sorry it was posted before, I tried to do a search on it and got an error.

The flyer we got is offering a $199 special - not sure if we'll make it there with the new baby this fall but we may try and make a reservation for February.

DH and I want to go there WITHOUT the kids for a one-night romantic getaway. My parents have a house in the Poconos very close to the new resort, so we can leave our kids with them and then get one of those king rooms with the whirpool - if they offer a discounted rate!

From pics I've seen it looks a lot like Disney's WL!

DH & I did this for our anniversary in May. It was very nice!!

We've been to the one in Williamsburg 3 times - twice w/ the boys, once without. It is a lot of fun. My older DS asks us when we're going back at least once a week.

It is expensive. But, you can always find a special on their site.

And, FYI - a lot of times the specials on their site are better than any mailings you may receive. I've gotten a ton of fliers & emails from them w/ special codes, but I can always find a better deal just by going to the Specials page on their site.

We have been to the one in Wisconsin Dells also. My DS & DD loved it and it really is a nice atmosphere. They do alot for the kids. When we were there the kids got a tour of the lobby and they told them all about the different things there, they did oragami wolves, and they had pj story time. It really is alot of fun! We too went off peak and it was a bit cheaper. Sundays through Thursdays they usually offer specials on too.

The photographs of the Lodge did remind me somewhat of the WL in WDW.

It looks like a fun place to stay.

I searched their site and couldn't find out if it included meals like at the Ceasar's resorts

Meals aren't included.

I have a question for those who have been. Do they supply towels? Ours take up so much room in the suitcase so I'd rather not bring them if I don't have to.

We are going tomorrow for the weekend :Pinkbounc

The one in Sandusky, OH did supply towels. :)

We just booked the one in the Poconos for 3 nights. We got the $214 a night price. We could have had the $199 price, but for $214 you get a $50 gift card to a shopping area that is supposed to be very near the resort. You also get $25 off a spa treatment, which my wife will use. And, I "think" possibly one mre "perk".

What I really liked was how excited the people in reservations sounded. They really seemed to like their company, and not like a faked, forced response.

I'll post a report when we get back, but our trip isn't until the week leading into Christmas.

That's a great rate. What kind of room are you getting and are you going during the week or on the weekend? We went to the outlets near the resort last weekend and they are pretty good and less than a mile away. I posted a trip report if you want to read it scroll up for the link :flower:

ETA..I THOUGHT I posted a link, but I guess not, oops.

Here it is:

Ahh, that's the Family Suite. They all have the appliances in them. Some just have more beds/different layouts/bunk beds. Have fun! It really is a great place!
