Great vintage video!

I watched the whole thing. It really shows the excitement in the area, but it also shows how much the company has gone the wrong way since the 10th anniversary. The last quote from Walt about the CMs and such really hits home, because the company treats many CMs like crap, and it rubs off on the guests. It's humbling though, it revitalizes my desire to keep Walt's dream alive. This is the kind of thing they should be showing in traditions IMO.

Thanks for posting! Really enjoyed watching.

It looks like this was done in answer to local criticism and concern about EPCOT Center?... like they needed it as a tool to help seal the deal politically? Even all those years after Walt's death words like, "powerful dream machine rolls into high gear" were, I'm sure, hypnotic - especially for hopeful local entrepreneurs.

I loved the MK construction stuff in the middle of III but I think my favorite parts were:

1. The "[Business Name] World" montage in IV. It was pleasingly lengthy! (But probably isn't so enjoyable to those who lived there in the 70's.)

2. Seeing the Spaceship Earth ride tracks spiraling up through the unfinished dome infrastructure in V! That was awesome! Had to skip back and watch again several times.

If you're interested here are the credits on IMBD since they're cut off in the video: http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0243265/companycredits

Great one, Mike! I have this little hobby of researching and collecting old WDW pics from the days when it was nothing but dirt to present. I've got probably 150+ that I've managed to find. Its really cool to see how it looked back in the 70's and 80's.

Here is a cool video from October 1971. Bob Hope introduces the Contemporary. When this video was filmed, the Contemporary was not yet completed, there were still a few touches to be done. Most of the people in the "audience" were CM's. And no convention center in the front!!!!

Thanks for the link Mike. I just got through watching all the segments. I just wish the video quality would have been better.

Thanks for the memories! LOL

Love that video! :rotfl2:

The costumes, the lack of a pool at the resort, the fake monorail stop built just for the occasion, and Bob's "racy" humor!

Another favorite only because of the "mistake" Disney planted! Genious!

(Any guesses?)

Well......the monorails are both going in the same direction, and they shouldn't be. Also......there's no track coming out of the other side of the building. :lmao:

I noticed both monorails were going in the same direction but didn't notice there's no tracks on the other side. Good thing they were going in the same direction! :lmao:

When do I get my all-expenses-paid 4-night stay at the Poly? :rolleyes1
