Great vacation.....small budget

I am haveing a small family reunion, of sorts.... All my children (4) 2 of which have spouses, my parents, my borhter and his DD and my and my DH.

We are doing this on a budget, and we found a place we can stay at 2 bedroom suite 5 nights only had to pay for 3. And we are doing all our eating in our kitchen.

It of course is not DISNEY PROPERTY, But a very nice resort.........

BUT now to my Question......

I am looking for ways to make the resort even more special for my family.
My mom has NEVER had a "REAL" vacation. I dont even know if she knows what she is missing.

Here are my thoughts can you help me add to them.......

1. Balloons somewhere in living space for little ones
2. Flowers in several places
3. Candles on balconey and bathrooms
4. Confetti somewhere

But after that i am at a loss.....
What else would make it extra special

A little silly, but fun - mints for the pillows! (put the kids in charge!)

Have cocktail hour every night..one special app. and cocktails - maybe everyone could take turns choosing/preparing.

Bring a digital frame with you, everyone can DL their pics, and you can watch the slideshow during dinner. Works with a laptop too.

I know I can't find them around my home anymore, but there is sometimes Mickey ravioli ( frozen in a box) which is made for kids, but I have to say, is pretty good, it would make a nice quick themed meal.

If I think of any more, I will post again, but Have a great time and enjoy your trip!

I'd concentrate on really spoiling mom...mom should not have to do anything but shower an dress NO helping with anything turn down her bed for her nightly an she should get a nice chocolate mint or 2 every night. Maybe get her a new bathrobe an slippers too just like in a super deluxe hotel only this time she gets to take them home with her.

The digital picture frame a good idea I think in the end I'd give it to mom if she is able to figure out how to use it. You an other family members can add pics for her if she wants.
MY MOTHER would never ever figure out the digital frame thing nor would my dad. Get one that shows at least 5x7 pics tho so she can see it.


Give mom a bell so she can ring for bell service everytime she wants something.

Mom's children an grandchildren should take a night that when she is going to bed they each ask to come in an each one should have a favorite memory of her that they tell her about or even a cute little bedtime story...5 or 10 mins will be enough.

Make up a card on the computer welcoming each family member to your lovely resort an they are staying in such an such suite an that you hope they enjoy their stay etc. Just a little 3x5 card with fancy text should do it an place it on their pillows.

I will definitley be getting the bell.

She has asked to spend ALOT of time on the balconey.. So that would be a great place for her to have the bell.

If they are all into the magic and fantasy of wdw, how about Tinkerbell gifts the first morning...maybe t-shirts or something festive for the vacation...wrap them up in colorful tissue paper and leave in a central area with glitter dust sprinkled...and some sort of indicator it was from Tink.

I think disney store online usually has some good deals on t-shirts.

And maybe for the little ones, Tink could leave something small every day, like stickers or glow toys (or if your budget allows, something small for everyone everyday!)

If you have a dollar store near you, you could pick up some really nice candle or body lotion and make mom up an awesome basket for really cheap money. You could also have "theme nights" maybe do a mexican night or a girls night and get the party favors at the dollar store also

Sun screen
foot powder
sunglasses
pool towel
flip flops/slippers
gum/mints
satin pillowcase
lip balm with sun screen
sun hat
her own camera (digital or disposable)
book about hidden mickeys
pressed coin book
her favorite coffee or tea
her favorite or a new mug
moisturizing lotion
bath salts

You could go nuts with this!! Just think of all of her favorites!
