Great unknown tips or secrets!

We take along return address labels, slap them on the luggage tags, write on the number and we are done. So many organizations try to get donations by sending free labels that at times we are inundated. One time we used labels with our DS's name on. He had moved, but we had not so they were not getting used for mail, however, they would get our luggage to us if it went astray!

Sweet about the Panama trip...! Want to do it but dates don't work for us:sad1:

RE packing the last night. Get as much done as you can when you get back from your day at Castaway Cay, then you can enjoy dinner and the rest of your evening.

Was quickly scanning posts to "get my head in the game" for an upcomming cruise and had to do a double take on these... I was scrolling and at first it appeared as if it was the same message...:scared1:

...and yes my glasses have been ordered. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I am repeating this from a post I made in 11/06. Sorry if it is a repeat in this forum.

When we took our first cruise in November 2006, we had more baggage then we ever take on vacation. We don't usually bring evening clothes, pirate costumes, snorkeling gear etc. Needless to say with three of us, we had 6 checked baggage and 3 carry ons. When we found our luggage in the port terminal after disembarking, we began to connect the smaller bags to the larger bags so that my dh and I could handle most of the luggage and our dd(9) could handle her bag and her carry on. It was very difficult moving and then we saw the long line to go through customs. We decided to get a porter which is something we really don't usually do. Who needs the added expense. Besides the stingray encounter on Castaway Cay, it was the best expenditure we made outside of the cruise itself. The porter loaded up all 9 of our bags and took our customs card and moved us right up to customs on the left of the long line. We were out to our airline check in counter within 5 minutes. So if you have money left and you have a lot of baggage, I highly recommend this. Since many people check their luggage at curbside at the airport, and have access to carts when picking up luggage at baggage claim, you don't realize how difficult a large quantity of luggage really is. We over tipped since we didn't know any better. According to what I read now, it should be $1 ot $2 per bag. Even though we gave the porter $30, I still think it was money well spent.

certainly worth the money! I can make a dime scream in fright, but I'll drop the $$ for the porters without a second thought. :woohoo: :woohoo:

The fab ulous guys and girls who sell drinks on the beach will offer them to you sort of a last call before you leave the island. I don't know if they seve them at the bars, I still haven't left my spot on the sand:cool1:

It seems to me they offer the buy one get one free at the bars most of the day as well. I remember ordering a margarita at one of the bars and the bartender asked if I wanted the buy one get one free special ... um, let me think about that ... YES!!!

... This time I am going to start asking when I order my FIRST drink of the day.

I didn't get to have any drinks last time because I was preggers. Good tip to know!!!

I'll be in line with Cheri & Judy ;) DH will be watching the kids. (Hey I can dream.)

Don't try to be the first off the ship at CC. We sleep in, have breakfast and start down the gangplank as others are coming back. That way we always get a hammock. There is nothing better than the ocean, sun, a drink and a hammock.

I live and die by ziplock bags also.

Always unpack and organize as soon as you get your bags otherwise it will never get done and the small room will quickly become a disaster area.

One thing I've learned is to pick up and look at the pricetags on the bottom of items in the shops, especially in Mickey's Mates. I found that a bunch of times, stuff would be majorly on sale but with no outward notice! I have picked up a bunch of neat stuff that way. :)

I realize this topics been here forever, but I would go to the stern on Deck 7. there is a relatively obscure door onto this gorgeous veranda that no one ever seems to frequent.

I always take oxi clean wipes. That way if someone spills something on their shirt or shorts you can wipe it throw it in the dirty clothes till laundy time and it does not stain.
