Great Time at POP

Just got back from a few days stay at WDW, staying at POP Century.

While the rooms were a bit tight for the four of us, they were still very nice. The mattresses were very soft and none of us had trouble sleeping. The rooms were well lit, but could use a bit more table or counter space to put things on. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly the staff at the check-in counter.

The pools were nice and warm and fun to be in. The hippie dippie pool has cute flower sprayers that spray water into the pool. They even have a ping-pong table in the pool area (DS loves to play ping pong).

The restaurant/snack area is organized well, although we never ate there (just picked up some late night snacks - You can see a picture of the delicious and colorful tie-dye cheesecake they have here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1744623). However, from the looks of things, the lines seemed quite long in the morning for people eating breakfast there, even when the rest of the hotel didn't seem that crowded.

There is a very pretty lake by the resort which you can walk around (well around half of it) and the "generation gap" bridge is also really very pretty. One morning I just walked around the complex and it was very relaxing and fun to find all of the big icons. It's actually very clever of Disney to put huge 3 story icons at the entrances to each building (yo-yos, bowling pins, rubik cubes, etc.) as it makes it very easy for people to find the right building they are in from a distance. It's also fun to walk up the stairs inside of a yo-yo.

Each building represents a decade, and they have music playing from that decade outside. It's really quite clever and fun.

While it doesn't have the elegance and charm of some of the deluxe resorts, we found POP a great place to stay.

We have stayed at the POP the last 4 times we have been there. We love it, its like our 2nd home haha

Pop is our favorite value. Glad you had such a great stay! :thumbsup2

We stayed there for 2 weeks last year and enjoyed it. It was clean, the pools were nice and the staff was great!!! However, I did miss having a jacuzzi available when we came back tired and ache from walking.:)
