Hi

I have a package already booked -- room, tix, dining -- and I just called and spoke to a great CM and told her I was hearing rumors that as Disney Visa Holder free dining might be available on Monday to book and should I drop dining from my reservation now and add it on Monday or outright cancel now and rebook on Monday...

She was SO nice and said to leave everything as it is and to call on Monday and modify the reservation and they will deduct the cost of the dining plan from my package price.

I asked her if she could confirm the free dining offer and all she could say was "...sounds like you already have information...I can't really say anything but your information sounds positive" Then when I was hanging up she said -- "we will talk to you again on Monday."

I am almost 100% positive they are going to do Free Dining again this year!

I am very encouraged to hear that I can just modify my reservation. As for the fact that I paid the first $200 deposit with a card other than my Disney Visa -- she said - "when a code is available for you to use - we can modify the reservation and can either add an additional $200 deposit on your disney visa or can cancel the prior deposit and put it on disney visa instead -- we will work with you on Monday."

I really think the rumors are accurate and Monday is the day for Visa holders. She told me to check the Visa site or call the Visa people to see if they have any information.

I forgot to ask her about what dates the free dining would be offered -- my trip is 9/13 through 9/20 and it is usually offered during that time.

This is indeed good news!

Can't wait for Monday -- I am going to have to get up early that day to call.

I can't speak for if she is right about the free dining offer, but the other two things you mentioned..converting your ressie to free dining and switching the charge to the Disney Visa...we did BOTH of those with our ressie last year, so I can tell you that she was correct in that. (CRO folks are not always correct in what they tell you.)

If you don't mind my asking, which resort are you reserved at? I'm curious if that'll help determine which all are available.

Where are you finding info that Disney VISA holders may be offered free dining starting Monday? I am a cardholder, but have rec'd nor seen any info???

The rumors are here and from another, very trustworthy website.

Free dining looking more likely - Disney Visa offer to start on April 7
All signs continue to point to Disney's free dining offer beginning to the general public on April 10. We expect Disney Visa cardholders to get their free dining offer a few days earlier, on April 7.

I am getting that from rumors posted on the board...but the CM seemed to indicate that it is true about Visa holders first.

I called Disney Visa as well and they said they can't announce any promotions until the day they are offered and when offered it will be on the website (chase.com/disney) and also (sometimes) via email.

Just to put my 2 cents in, when I called a few days ago the cm on the phone told me that they had been scheduling extra people to work because of "something big" and the phones would be ringing off of the hook.

Disney Visa had no clue what I was talking about when I called and checked today...but on a good note, I convinced my AAA agent to call Mon morning at 6 AM (Central) to get us fd:goodvibes Hopefully its avail. or he might get a little annoyed at getting up early:lmao:

So what happens if free dining ends in the middle of my stay? For example, I arrive Friday, 10/3 and depart on Monday, 10/6? What if free dining ends 10/4? Can I still take advantage of it for the 3 nights or only for my first 2? I've never taken advantage of any "code" so I am thoroughly confused.:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I just wish we knew the dates so I could stop thinking about it already!!!!! We are going to have the dining either way, whether we pay or it's free. Aug 19-26th that's what I'm shooting for!!popcorn::

You will get the dining for your entire stay. We went in 2005, 10/2-10/8. Free dining ended I think on 10/4, but because we were booked prior to the promotion ending, we got it the entire stay. Which goes by the nights you are staying.

My brother and SIL are going to a wedding in October (17-21) and are most likely staying at WDW, does anyone remember what dates they offered free dining last year ?

Thanks

Yay!! I love hearing great news! Thank you for sharing the great info :)
