We just returned from our second trip to SSR and had a wonderful time. This resort has really made us happy about our DVC purchase. We arrived on 6/20 from Philly and were assigned two studios in the Paddock (6432 and 6436). Both rooms were in great condition, well cleaned, and the views from the fourth floor are really exquisite. We could see the pond areas, the walking bridge and the Wishes (MK) fireworks display from our balconies. The Springs pool area was quite active in the afternoons, but at no time did we feel that it was overcrowded. The quiet pool area at the Paddock was really nice, too. It was convenient to swim there and do laundry when needed. We did rent a minivan for our stay (there were 6 of us) and used that more than the buses for our transportation. However, when we did use a Disney bus, the wait times were not long at all.
The parks were busy but managable. We know what rides to Fastpass and plan breaks in the shade (with a Dole Whip or Mickey bar, of course). One day we arrived at Animal Kingdom early (8:30ish) and were glad we did because everyone appears to know about the rush to Expedition Everest when they "officially" open the park. That ride was worth the price of admission alone! Love that Yeti!
Thanks to all of you that have shared great advice in "managing the trip to the Mouse". We love visiting WDW and can't wait to plan our next adventure!
