After repeated attempts to see Wishes, we were ready to just give up. Our 3.5 yo DS and 1 yo DD couldn't handle the combination of staying up late, sitting in place waiting for it to start, and then the loud bangs of the fireworks.

Last weekend, we stayed for the parade, and decided to try again. Once again, however, the kids couldn't take the wait. So,we took the ferry to TTC, and the show started just as we were getting off the ferry. Most of the people stayed on the dock to watch the fireworks. We walked up to the area just inside of the ticket kiosks, and discovered that not only did we have a perfect view of the fireworks, we also got to hear the soundtrack piped in overhead. As soon as it was over, we were first in line for the tram. Obviously, it's not quite the same as being in the park, and you don't get to see Tink's flight, but we didn't have to wait for a good spot, the noise of the fireworks was tolerable for the kids, and there was no mad rush to beat the crowds to get out.::yes::

Where are the other locations with the music piped in? Does anyone know? I heard the contemporary has a patio...

moinab - I love seeng your posts because of that picture - its is sooo precious. You have hit my dilema right on the head. I want to see Sprectromagic - but I am a crowd hater and my DS (2yo) will be pushing it to stay up to see Spectro alone - let alone seeing Wishes. So I thought we would try and bolt after Spectromagic (if we even make that) and see if we could see Wishes maybe from the Poly on the night prior (we are only staying in WDW one day :( ).
Thank you so much for this post. That sounds like such a wonderful idea and better than my other idea.

We love to watch the fireworks from the beach at Fort Wilderness! There's a playground to keep the little ones busy until fireworks time - and plenty of room to run around on the beach too! You can also get a pizza to go from Crockett's Tavern and eat it at a picnic table near the beach!

I totally agree Rhonda and I was wondering how people felt about it now that its Wishes - BUT - with Wishes now being a show best viewed straight on and not from the side, was it all it could be watching from there? I also like the fact that the music was piped in at the TTC (which seems to me to be a big part of watching Wishes for the first time) which is not the case at FtW.

The Poly also has the soundtrack piped in near the outdoor bar.

I've seen wishes from a few places inside MK and from the Poly. I would give the Poly a try with young kids. Buy some beer/wine at the store, sit on the beach and soak it all in. It really is relaxing watching from the poly.

We were staying off-site, and it was important for us to be able to leave ASAP to get the kids back to the hotel and in bed, so this turned out to be the best compromise for us. I just thought it might help others in a similar situation.

THANK YOU

with an 7 month old who REALLY does not like the "boom" of the firworks up close, I was dissapointed in not beable to see wishes till she was older.

But this sounds like a wonderful solution to beat the crowds and to see a wonderful show.

I have thought of the poly but i would have never thought of this.

thank you for posting :teeth:
