I bought an adult snorkle mask and breathing tube at Costcos this weekend. It is really well made and would cost a lot more then $24. at Ron Jons in Cocoa beach I'm sure. In fact, I might check it out when we're there next month the night before our cruise. I think it'll pay for itself between snorkling at blue lagoon in Nassau and Castaway Cay.

I saw those there the other day and was thinking of getting them for the kids. It would be a great savings, but I hate to think of lugging them on the cruise.

Sandee - If it is the Pro Body Glove set you are referring to- green or blue $24.95, they are great! We brought them on our 4/13 cruise- used them in St. Thomas- Magaens Bay & Castaway Cay. At CC they give you a free floatable vest to use at the rental place- it's mandatory there. We don't like them, as it makes diving down difficult. We bought the fins too. I believe they were $15 a pair- two different sizes. We were in Ron Jons this past Saturday. Comparable equipment was starting at $44.95 for the silicon mask & drainable spout snorkel. For $40, you can have the whole set.The kids equipment wasn't a good buy in Costco- cheaper quality, but packaged cute- fins and carry bag included. We bought our DD a comparable Silicon mask & snorkel at Sports Authority -$24.95.

We used the Speedo goggle spray in them beforehand to prevent fogging. They were crystal clear. The cover on the top of the snorkel is great when you dive down. Just blow out when you come up to surface!

Mmouse37- you are right. The only bad part is lugging them around. We bought a net duffle in Sports Authority for $8.00. Put everything in it, plus water shoes & goggles- easy to carry & rinse everything off in. That and the collapsable cooler took up the better part of a fourth bag for us.

We were glad we had them, as the Body Glove silicon masks & snorkels are far superior to what you will receive as a rental, plus they are yours to use in the future. You will love them!

Yep, that's the set I got. Actually once they're out of the pkg. it's not going to take up too much room. I have a nylon mesh bag already - that's a great idea. I'll have to go back and look at the swim fins. Glad to get someone else's opinion on the kids set. We'll be snorkling this summer and I want to get my DGD a set. I thought the kids set at Costco was not as nice. Will check out Sports Authority. I just worry about how well the rental gear is sanitized.

Sanitation was our primary concern too. On our last cruise, we didn't bring our gear as it was old, but we did bring our own snorkels for that reason. You can rent fins a CC for $9.00 if you don't want to purchase, but if you go somewhere else & it's not available you're stuck + for $6 more-they are yours. The fins are really good guality and are easier to get on/off than the ones they rent.

thats where we got a couple sets too.. couldn't beat the price considering everying.... we didn't get the flippers though since neither hubby nor me will use them.

woohoo May 18th is on the way

I just bought two sets at Sams today (mask, fins, snorkle, waterproof necklace thing, and bag). They were by Body Glove and seem to be great quality. I bought an adult set for my husband, and a youth set (size L) for my son. After I got home, I tried on my sons fins and mask and they fit me perfectly. The size on box said 1-4, but I wear a 6 1/2. I am going to buy the youth set for myself since it is half the price of the adult set.
