Checked in Sunday, 4/18 at 7 AM and was given a choice of approx 8 2BR's, of which 1/2 were ready!!!! We wanted an upper floor near the Turtle Pond Pool, but some were ground floor, so we didn't choose those. One was top floor, near HH, but we didn't want that area. The room assigned to us wasn't ready, so we chose Bldg 37 and loved it. Just a couple minutes to get to the bus stop or the pool, and there was a fountain in the lake, which completely drowned out any traffic noise. It was so relaxing on the balcony!
We spent the first 4 days with our friend and her 10 and 17 y/o. They were IN AWE of the room and the big turtle and family of baby ducks in the pond. Room was in fine shape, with a few minor things-- broken blinds and worn coffee table. We were very, very comfortable there. This was our first time sharing DVC and we loved being able to do it. We couldn't afford to treat them since we were borrowing points and had to pay cash for one night also. But for slightly more than Pop Century, they got to share a 2 BR and were thrilled.
After our friends left, we had to "check in/check out" on paper and get new room keys, but didn't have to move. The next 5 nights in the 1 BR were a combo of points and cash (Member's 25% discount on Fri night) and everything was linked together, so there were absolutely no problems and it was effortless for us.
Bus service was very good. We missed the MK bus one eve and had to wait 30 minutes for the next one, but generally waited 5-10 minutes.
We're VWL owners and love it (and miss it), but really appreciate the serenity and magic of OKW, after 3 stays there. It was a wonderful trip.
