Mom and I are staying at the Poly this summer and having a girls' vacation with just the two of us- woo hoo! We are planning on enjoying all of the special adult beverages to be had in all the parks and at the Poly- again, woo hoo! :cool1:

Mom wants to know if there is somewhere in particular to get a really good pina colada. Anyone know of *the* spot? We figure the Poly must have a good one, but she wants to find one with good coconut milk that isn't too sweet and you never know where that may be.

Oh, and while we're talking tropical delights, what exactly is in a Lapu Lapu? (I think that's what they're called...)

We stayed at the Poly and loved it! When I ate at Ohana in 07 with my girlfriends we tried the Lapu Lapu and I didn't like it. It was too strong for me but the Malibu Mackaw was AWESOME! Also, my friend got a pina colada and said it was really good!

My mom and I love the pina coladas at O'hana. They said they make them from scratch. It was the best one we've ever had. I can't wait to go back for another one. You'll have to try them.

We love the Tambu Lounge in the Poly....these were so good and we drank more than our fair share!

I wish they charged less for the non alcoholic version. The kids love them but I hate spending full price for nothing more than a fancy slushy when the alcohol isnt in it.

the outside drink stand at Morrocco in Epcot had a drink very much like a pina colada with the addition of almond flavor that was absolutely delish!

Oooh, that Moroccan drink sounds great! Sounds like we're going to be staying in the right place for the tropical drinks too- that pina colada picture looks to die for!

Indeed. It was a Pina Colada with almond liqueur added. It's called the Sultan's Colada (I guess the Sultan liked almonds) :lmao: . It was good, and not too sweet. I'd certainly try it again.

I love the Pina Colada's at the Poly! However they are made from a commercially available mix, and are very sweet.

I know they are from a mix because when I got a Pina Colada from the pool at the Disneyland Hotel it was the exact same PC that they served at the Poly, and it was def a mix.

That said, the Pina Colada's at WDW are the best in the world and I look forward to drinking one soon!

will make a note for DH - he loves the schwarma and hummus in morocco, as well as a good pina colada - sultan's it is!:drinking1

Hands down, the absolute best Pina Coladas are to be found at AKL poolside. They make a mean pina colada there....just trust me.

The second best is Yacht and Beach Club poolside. they add a extra shot of rum. now that's good.:goodvibes

Yeah, thanks...now I know the name of it. Was starting to feel like a real lush since I couldn't remember the name of the drinks here or at the Adventurer's Club in DTD! :rotfl: Mostly, it's just because I wasn't paying attention to the names, just reading the ingredients to see if they sounded good.:drinking: It was definitely good enough to give me brain freeze (that's my test for a truly good frozen drink...if it's tasty enough to make me slurp too fast, then it's really good.:dance3: )
