I posted this over on the families board and I wanted to post it here too!!

I have been looking around for a while for a bag to carry at the parks that wouldn't be too big, but big enough to carry everything a family of four (a 5 year old boy and an 8 year old girl) might need for a day of commando park trekking! i also wanted a bag that my DH wouldn't cringe away from if I asked him to hold it for a while! I think I found the perfect bag! I just received it today!!!

It's the Diaper Dude Messenger Bag!!

Last summer I had the Donner bag and it worked really well for my husband and me on our honeymoon. ;) But we are taking my step kids this summer and I was actually pretty concerned that my Donner bag wouldn't hold everything I might need to carry as the designated "pack mule"!

The Diaper Dude is marketed as a diaper bag for "hip dads".:lmao: It's completely unisex and no one would know it was supposed to be a diaper bag. I LOVE IT! It comes in a green camo print, all black, brown w/ pink zippers and trim, navy blue, a really loud plaid, a pink camo print (the diaper diva), I think gray and orange as well. Some of the bags have skulls and crossbones on the pockets, others have dragons or peace signs...It's comparable in price to the Donner bag and it's got TONS of compartments, a "bottle" holder that fits a diet coke bottle cuz I checked FIRST THING! It's got three large pockets on the front, pockets on the back, a large inner compartment that comes with a little changing pad which you can take out of you don't need it, a zippered compartment inside and a cell phone holder on the shoulder strap. It's also got a "pacifier"/key holder on the strap. It also has a "stroller strap" so that it can easily hang onto the backs of strollers keeping everything handy to whomever is pushing the stroller! :)

I got the green camo print bag. It's not too huge, but big enough to carry everything you might need. I think it's going to work out great. I'm going to use it as a carry on to the plane as well. I can use it for school too. (one more year to go and I've got my doctoral degree!:teacher: :cool1: )

I got mine on @ www.travelingtikes.com . They have the lowest price on the web. Even on Ebay these bags go $65 and up unless you want to try and get a used one...which go fast and there are always tons of bids. These bags are on Ebags.com for $61 and up. Traveling tikes has them for $49.99, no matter what color you choose. Their customer service department is fantastic and you get free shipping! I really researched this and I think I got the lowest price and the best deal on the web. The bag I got sold for $65.99 at every other site.

I was so excited when I got my bag the first place I wanted to go was the Dis and let everyone know about this really versatile bag! It ROCKS!!:thumbsup2

well gosh, I thought I would have at least gotten a "Good job finding such a cool bag..." :sad1: :rotfl2: :lmao:

It IS a cool bag...really cool...cooler than anything else...seriously...;)

Our boys will be 9 & 5 when we go in Oct, so my wife is looking for something smaller to take to the parks this year to carry our/their "stuff". I'll show her this to see if she is interested.

Do you know if Babies-R-Us or any other retailer carries them? She is a touchy, feely kind of person. She'll want to see it, hold it, check it out before she commits to it. Plus, I'm not sure how she'll feel about a messanger bag. She has been using a small leather backpack for the last several trips. I help carry whatever she brings, too, but it doesn't matter to me as long as it doesn't look like a purse. :rotfl: I'm fine with a fanny pack, but she thinks those are waaaay too dorky.

:lmao: Thanks Epscot!!:thumbsup2 A response!!!

I don't think Babies R us has them...they are more of a "high end" trend...they aren't that expensive but are catering to the trendy dad! Smaller boutiques carry them as well. Zappos.com has them and if you look they have pictures of a person holding the bag so you can see how big it might look. zappos also has multiple pictures of the bag you can check out!

Nordstrom carries them I think, though when I looked I didn't find them. You can go to the Diaper Dude website and do a search for stores in your area. then you can touch and feel and try and then buy it at Travelingtikes.com so you don't end up spending $65+!!!

It's a nice bag. I think it's going to work out great for my family!

good luck!! :)

(actually diaper dude makes a "fanny pack" as well!)

I just checked babiesrus website...they say it's the most registered item...it most likely is in stores...:goodvibes

you are KIDDING ME! :headache: when I went to Babies R us to look for it the girl I talked to said that they don't sell bags that are "snobby"...:lmao: :lmao: I was assured that they'd never even heard of Diaper Dude...so I never bothered to check online at BRU...it seemed odd to me that they wouldn't sell a bag that was incredibly popular on the web...:confused3 It IS more expensive at BRU than at travelingtikes.com though...so I feel slightly better. ;) I just get annoyed when sales people don't know what they are talking about, I fall for it instead of checking into it and then give misinformation to others! GRRRRR....

I'm not sure what she was even talking about seeing as they carry Baby Bjorn products...talk about celebrity hype!:cool2: :rotfl2:

I was recently at BRU shopping for diaper bags off a registry...I would never have thought to get one of those "cool ones" for Disney...maybe I'll go back and check them out for myself (then price compare online:goodvibes )

My biggest thing was having a bag that wouldn't embarrass my husband to death to carry. I'm a worry wart and a "needs to be prepared for any situation" type of person...when I carried my overland donner bag last year, it was great and roomy, but it got REALLY heavy sometimes. I really like my diaper dude bag, it's designed to take stress off your neck and shoulders, which is nice after a few hours lugging things around.

I was also quite pleased that the "bottle" holder DOES indeed hold a 20oz. bottle of diet coke!:cool1: (I have trained my step kids to keep an eye out for any diet coke vendors! They are GREAT in grocery stores! ) I had really appreciated the bottle holders on either side of my donner bag last summer and I didn't want to give up that little luxury!:thumbsup2

Can I just say how much I love this site!!! My best tips are from Dissers!! My new love of Bare Minerals makeup my Molokini flip flops that you bake and they mold to your feet(zappos) and now the diaper dude!! I cant wait to check it out!! I have the same fear we have two DS's and my husband carried around a north face back pack on our last trip and there was just too many compartments. We were always fumbeling for things. This sounds perfect and it sounds like it does not kill your neck or shoulders. My husband would not be to happy with me if I stuck him with something to fru fru! Ohh I forgot my ergo baby carrier!! That was my other tip from here!! We carried our 35lb DS in it all around WDW last year, it was great!!!
Thanks for the tip!!!:thumbsup2

I learned EVERYTHING about the ins and outs of Disney from The Disboards. I always loved Disney but I didn't know a thing about Disneyworld. I had NO CLUE about ADR's, that you had to have them, or that you needed to make them more than a week or so before you actually got to Disneyworld!:lmao: We'd have been living on CS meals! Thanks to the Dis, I got lots of info on the best places to try AND we ate for FREE!!:cool1: I was totally shocked that this was an actual deal...I kept asking the CM..."Is this serious? You mean we get to eat that much food for free and we don't have to BUY anything? Like a timeshare or stock?" He was laughing at me a bit!

As for the Diaper Dude...I do think I've found the best park bag EVER. I heard about my Donner bag on the Dis of course, and the baggallini and the endless fanny pack/back pack debates...so I was thrilled to be able to add a new bag to the Dis consciousness!! :cheer2:

I like it b/c i can hunt through it, while wearing it and walking and not have to stop, take it off, unzip, hunt and rifle through the dark interior until I find what I'm hunting for! Plus my diet coke will be secure and easily grabbed! ;) It's roomy enough that I can carry everything we might need for two munchkins without it being "stuffed"...which probably would have been the case with my donner bag. (which I still LOVE by the way it was an AWESOME park bag!) I know I'll have extra snacks, antibacterial wipes, sunscreen, a first aid kit, personal fans, four ponchos, extra t-shirts for the kids if we have an in park ADR for dinner...y'know stuff like that. I'm sure lots of other odds and ends I think it's going to work out really well. It's just very accessible and open. If you do go to travelingtikes.com, email the Customer service and ASK them what colors/designs they have in stock b/c sometimes what they show on the web isn't exactly what they have or they have things that they didn't put up. They are VERY nice and very accommodating.

I hope you find something you like!!!:thumbsup2 You can tell everybody on the Dis!!:yay:

Thank you:thumbsup2 I ordered the blue skull and cross bones I got it at Zappos.....Free overnight shipping. Your a rock star!!!!! I can't wait for it to come!!!

I'm SO glad you found a bag you liked! Zappos has a great selection and their overnight shipping ROCKS!!!

I love the color and design you are getting!!! I think these bags are just a kick in the pants. Skull and crossbones, dragons, camo print...they're GREAT!

I really hope you lilke your bag as much as I like mine! If you don't, free return shipping with Zappos!:cool1:

I love this bag! I just ordered mine from diaperbags.com ... $54.98. Free ground shipping. It will be here in 4 days! Ordered the camo ... my hunting DH will at least tolerate carrying it! Thanks for the tip!

I'm so glad you joined the Diaper Dude club Nikmom!!! :thumbsup2

I love mine!! When my step son saw it he said "THAT is the COOLEST bag I have ever SAW!":rotfl2: That is some high praise!!!

I'll be excited to hear how people enjoyed using it in the parks! We'll start a whole new genre in Disney bag must haves!!!:cool1:

I work at BRU and we do not carry this bag in stores...it's possible though that it is available online only and that is how people are registering for it.

good to know...I felt pretty stupid telling people that BRU did NOT have the diaper dude only to find it was the highest registered for bag in their registry!:lmao: thanks for letting me know I wasn't a total dope...:woohoo:
