Hi Guys !!
I promised that I would update as soon as I had news to update and I think this is the time to do it. For those who know of my fiancee (shyboy72), he had an MRI on Monday. This was a checkup and kind of decision maker of whether or not he has to be proactive and go the next step (which is chemo). Luckily the MRI showed that the tumor in his brain did NOT grow back and he is healthy and healing well !! They said for now, we wait another 3 months and do another MRI checkup. I thank god that he is doing well and has been back to work since July !
For those who don't know, this is the story of what happened to my fiancee :
A couple of months ago my fiance was paintballing in Sacramento. During the tourney he got shot in the head with a paintball gun. It welted pretty good and he was complaining about headaches. He scheduled an appointment with a doctor and he had an x-ray. The techs were a bit worried and had him take another. They then proceeded to give the news
to his regular physician. She said that they found a mass in his brain (this had nothing to do with the paintball injury). They then had him get an MRI to confirm what was going on. During this, we were trying to live life as usual, but when a doctor tells you that you might have brain cancer how can you be calm ?
Anyway, on Wednesday May 30th, my fiancee, his mom, my aunt, and I went to the hospital in Redwood City to meet with a neurological surgeon to talk about his MRI. Pretty much what happened was the doctor explaining that he had to get the tumor out right away and that it looked pretty benign (not cancerous). They at first scheduled it for the week after, but pushed it up to that Friday. This gave everyone a shock because there was not enough time to process everything that had happened.
In the end, the surgery was a success. They got almost all of it out (they couldn't get all of it out because it was by the speech center of his brain and they kept him awake so they could talk to him and make sure they were not damaging him; he started talking funny towards the end of the surgery) and he is now all better and pretty much back to normal. Of course it took a couple of days, but he is such a strong man. I look up to him so much because of how well he handled everything. I was so worried the whole time. I love this man SO much and care about him beyond belief. He is my best friend and it would have broken me completely if anything had gone wrong. By the grace of god he is great. He is such a trooper and I can't believe how amazing he is.
