Great Movie Ride - opinions?

Great ride. I must admit I never queued for the attraction, but it is quite long and action packed. Plenty of bang for your buck.

Add another minority vote. I took my mother (age 66) on this thinking she would love it. The line was just outside the building -- it looked short to me LOL! DH and sons waited out front (big mistake -- our one fight of the trip.). I did not realize that the wait for the ride would be so long! There is a long period where you are standing inside a movie theatre watching clips of films. It was tiring after a while for my mom. Then the "ride" itself was basically a slightly jazzed up animatronic dark ride with virtually no emotional impact IMHO. We are a film crazy family, but this one left us cold.

We love this one, however, I can't stand the whole movie thing they show at the end. That bores me to death!

We did the GMR on our trip in Sept. I was fairly impressed with it. The Alien scene is great and the Oz scene is almost lifelike, very well done. Although we only waited about 15-20 mins, I wouldnt wait in an extremely long line for this ride.
To many things top my list above GMR @ MGM like TOT :scared1: , millionaire, Fantasmic and soon enough.....the car stunt show (forgot what its called) which looks amazing from the sneak peek @ the backlot tour

Count me in the minority on this one, too. Liked it the first time, but after 4-5 subsequent tries, I won't do it again unless there are significant changes. I'm a major classic films nut, but GMR actually seemed a bit lame to me the last time around.

I particularly dislike the tired old story line, with the guide "interacting" with the villain. I've never seen this done convincingly, and sometimes it's been so robotically performed that I just wince. To say nothing of the accusing looks of family members ("I can't believe we stood in line for this just because you like old movies," etc.).

I also wish they'd do a new film montage in the queuing area. I've never done this ride without seeing it at least 3 times. It seems they could rather easily extend the film to minimize the monotony factor.

I thought my father was going to kill me while waiting for this ride. I could swear it said a 25 minute wait, although the line was way out the building. I even asked the CM at the head of the line "Are you sure, 25minutes?" He said yes.

We absolutely stood still for 10 minutes without moving an inch. My father has a bad back and standing longer than 30 minutes is painful.

I love it, it is a must do. But if the line is out the building, run, run away.
