Did that get your attention. Well it sure got my attention when the ride story changed and the fire sequence was back during the back robbery scene.
I won't give away the details of the new scene but it was excellent.
This was just a few weeks ago when my wife and I visited. I just thought of it now and figured I'd post.
Has this change up been going on for awhile or did the imaginners just bring it back.
Really adds excitement to the show. And we love it.:thumbsup2

The fire thing did get my attention, yes lol. Sadly I have only been on the Great Movie ride once, two trips ago. Im young, so I guess once is way more than most people in the world, and we didn't have time last trip because we were only there a half day on our last day. It was ok though... usually we go to the world once every two years but we went twice in one year lol. Anyways, im excited to here about something new! Cant wait to go on it again, thanks!

Wait what?
I didn't realize they ever got rid of the fire sequence? And the story changed?
Last time I was on it, I'm pretty sure that the fire sequence was there. (last October)

This post just made me think: "you know what would be so stellar? If they updated GMR to include some newer stuff"
and then I thought:
"like what?....like Pirates"
and then I remembered that there already was a Pirates ride
Just thought I'd share what just went on in my head. But it would be cool if they added some stuff to the ride...not that it isn't fabulous already!

I noticed they took out the whole gang shooting thing and put in the big gigantic building on fire scene, which I thought made up for it. It wasn't like that back in December, but in June I noticed it so it must be a recent change. I've also heard that the story alternates depending on the cart you get on though. I'm not sure if that's true or not

The story does alternate depending which track you're one. The difference, though, is between the cowboy scene and the mobster scene. I can't remember a fire scene but I might just have a faulty memory.

It's been a LOOOONG time since I've seen the effect. I remember vaguely the story had to do with the bank robbery and there is the sound of an explosion and then the building on fire. For the past few years every time I pass that part of the ride, I lament that they got rid of it. Don't know why they did. I presumed it had something to do with safety.

I got the cowboy/fire scene 3 weeks ago and I hadn't seen it in YEARS! I've gotten the gangster scene for what seemed like forever! It perked up what I think is a VERY tired attraction in need of SERIOUS updating! How about some new scenes from classic movies?

Yes it is. Within one day, riding it twice, I got both stories. One is a gangster, the other is the shootout/building on fire.

I wasn't aware the fire had ever left?? Maybe you had just been getting the gangster one each time, instead of fire?

when I was a CP in 04-05 I rode it many times and also ride it every trip I've been on and never got the fire thing until this last trip. Go figure

Depending on how busy the park is, they will alternate the scenes. Have seen both at various times last year.

aNYONE HAVE PICTURES?i JUST HAVE FROM 3 WEEKS AGO AND MANY TRIPS
gangster scene pictures

That ganster scene is dreadful - beyond belief! Of course, it depends on what CM you've chanced upon... Our last time on that attraction there was a young lady playing the gangster and it was simply painful to watch!

Yea, unfortunatley, some of the CMs are just not cut out for the part, but I guess Disney will give everybody a crack at it.

Just to clarify things: The fire effect has never really gone away. There are both the gangster scene and the cowboy/fire scene on the attraction. Since the cowboy scene uses a large amount of fuel for the fire, and requires additional Cast Members, it's only performed during peak seasons. During those peak times, there will be two sets of cars operating. The front set, which will be on the right side of the load area, gets the cowboy scene. The back set, on the left, will get the gangster scene. During slower times of the year, only the back set of cars, with the gangster scene, is in operation. :)

That would explain why I had never seen or quite frankly even heard of it. I saw it in June for the first time, so the other two peak times I was there, which was xmas two years, I must have just gotten the other car
