Great lunch at GF or Poly without ADR?

In December, one morning we will go to MK for rope drop and then head to GF and Poly around lunchtime to check out the Christmas decorations. I don't want to be tied down to a specific time for lunch.

Where might three of us (two adults and DD3) be able to have a great lunch at GF or Poly without a long wait and without an ADR?

Kona would be an option.

Also, if you are in MK, it is an easy walk to the Contemporary, you could check out lunch at the new Wave restaurant there. (you can also take the monorail over, but that takes longer than the walk does)

you could try the GF Cafe. It's usually not too crowded there and it's a really nice restaurant!

Approaching any TS restaurant without an ADR is subject to rejection. Dining at one of the monorail resorts is not new and many do this along with Disney staff. Don't translate value season to mean you can wing your dining plans...unless you are able to accept rejection or odd dining times.

Take note of this years free dining exchange policy... it would appear Disney is over selling dining plans and this practice will most likely continue...DDPs have dramatically reduced your chances of just having a normal vacation where you are able to leisurely dine. Don't expect to have a normal vacation where you can make plans the day before or that day like you are vacationing. Planning meals 180 days in advance...where else but Disney???

Yes it is crazy with the ADRs. I made last minute staycation plans for the AKL. A lot of places I wanted ADRs were booked so long ago that I am not sure where I am going to eat. I need to finalize my adrs tomorrow.
