Hey, I've got a great idea. What, with all the port cams etc, would you say to having DCL put the bow cam of the Magic and Wonder on the web. Would that be cool or what? Anybody know who we should call? I've seen a whole bunch of ship board webcams from the other cruise lines and later I'll post the website to access them. Any ideas? Wes

I wish Disney had a webcam too!! that way I could get my Disney fix everyday.

I think Disney in general has moved away from web cams. A couple of years ago they used to have web cams that were internet accessible in each of the four parks at Walt Disney World. They have since taken them down.

Well the Magic has the cam already, its just not hooked to the internet. We called it the nice-shot-cam because basically it is aimed at a basketball hoop that you only see the ball when a basket it made :D You can watch it from your stateroom, it is a black&white picture.

I also noticed other cameras around the ship, but never saw them on the tv. Those were probably used for security or something.

I recall the WDW webcams. Always wondered what had become of them. WDW is like Las Vegas. I was told by a CM who had been with them practically since the park opened that the place is virtually covered by cameras to record any event for subsequent legal reasons. I'm told the videotape has squashed more than one marginal or bogus lawsuit . What harm would come from a web cam off the mast aimed at the prow? Then folks like us could pretend it's us on the ship gliding over the waves. Wes

I think the park cams wen't "off the air" after 9/11 but I'm not 100% sure about that

It was neat, one night my wife and I laid in bed and watched the bow cam on the Magic as lightning danced across the horizon. Then the occasional basketball arced upward in brief low earth orbit. I say put the cam on the web. What's the harm? Wes

This has been discussed in the past on these boards....and everyone agrees it is a great idea....I even mentioned the idea on my comment cards a few times...but....still no web cam from DCL!!!

I really miss the WDW cams. I could track the "progress" of the decoration of the castle for the 25th anniversary.

On my Royal Caribbean cruise, we had a channel that showed the view from the bow. If you get seasick, do not watch it when the boat is in rough water...it just amplifies the feeling!!

I know that Princess has cams on many of their ships. You can even watch people get married on some of them. My parents were on a Princess cruise from Europe to Africa...but they would have had to go into prohibited areas for me to actually see them (a la King of the World scene in "Titanic")
