You know...the very quietest stay I have had yet was at POP. I was in the 50's section, bldg 2, third floor, at the very end of the bldg.
Same here. Except we were in the 70's building, near the back...total silence! Funny thing is, we stayed at the GF during a quiet week in December and it was the LOUDEST resort we'd ever stayed at. Their golf cart service/luggage vehicles were everywhere and made a lot of noise (in addition to a gaggle of adults hanging out in our hallway at all hours of the night).
To the OP - obviously you're not trying to avoid kids altogether since you're going to WDW, a known kid haven...but as other posters have mentioned, the resorts at WDW are very large and the quiet zones seem to be hit or miss. Maybe a rental house/condo off property would suit your needs better?
