If you are a member of Emerald Club for National rental car the rental experience at MCO is a breeze! Walk to the rental lot bypassing the counter and any lines and pick out a car in your rental class. We walked straight from bag claim to the garage. We picked out a car and were on our way after stopping at the gate out briefly. Most hassle free rental car experience ever!

I agree, that's why we've been members since 2003 and executive members for the last 5 years. I will pay more for National....not alot more....but more. :thumbsup2

I feel the same way. It just isn't fair to have to rent from a different company. And I always felt like a traitor. So far this year, we haven't had to use any other company because National has managed to keep rates in line.

Yea National!!!

I like the process at National and will use them on occasion, still prefer Hertz Gold Canopy better because the car is waiting for me in an assigned location (I have yet not had my car waiting and name not on the board - although once the board was broken and I had to ask the attendant which stall my car was in).

I've been an Emerald Club member since 1998 and love it! I like being able to pick a car vs having one assigned to me. I can only remember once that I did not get a full size on the aisle.

I got a pretty good deal on the rental as well! I tried a lot of different discounts and found out that if I rented it through Sam's Club that I got the best deal. It was just as cheap as the lowest rental through Travelocity. :goodvibes

Question about National - I'm an Emerald Club member, but haven't used them in forever it seems. :) I've reserved a 'fullsize crossover' for June. How flexible are they in terms of letting you drive out with something different from what you reserved? i.e. if I saw a minivan and took that, would they charge extra, or just let it slide?

Thanks! :)

If you were logged in during your reservation, your reservation should say Emerald Reserve because you are booking a specific class outside of the Emerald Aisle.

You can select any vehicel in the Fullsize Crossover section (I'm thinking this is a small section) or from the Emerald Aisle. Selecting from the Emerald Aisle will be considered a downgrade and you will be charged the reduced rate.

You cannot go into the minivan section and pull a minivan without the rate being adjusted.

It is very nice and too much pretty deal with the rental. I also tried a lot of different types of discounts, it is really very best. Just now I read in one article that Sam's Club got the best deal, it is in a cheapest rental through Travelocity.
