Hi,
Seems to be some great exchange rate deals at the moment.

TTT are offering $1.63 with 1.75% commision.

The Post Office are quoting $1.5671 commision free.

Marks & Spencer are offering $1.582 delivery and commision free if you spend £500 or over.

Pleased to say the higher rates lasted long enough for the payment of our DVC dues, even with the rise in the cost we still paid less than last year!.

Mick.

If it keeps going up, I'm putting the house up for sale and leaving the UK for good LOL ( and I'm only half joking :) ) :jester:

Sorry if I am a bit thick but who are TTT ?? Overall theirs seems to be a great deal.

Hi Sue,

TTT have Exchange Kiosk throughout London, not sure if they have any other locations or if they supply mail order.

In my experience TTT have one of the best exchange rates around - although they do charge the 1.75% commission.

Things about them to note:
1. There is a 'Special Offers' tab on the website - this link shows the info. but not in the frame:
TTT Special Offers
The rate tends to be 1 cent better than the tourist rate quoted in the branches. You have to know this rate and quote the 'web site offer' to get it. I have done this for both dollars and euros and got the better rate without any problems. This saves you about 0.5% of the commission.
2. Not all London branches have dollar travellers cheques. If you want these it may be worth ringing ahead if you can, if not they will direct you to a branch that will have them and will even ring ahead to reserve them for you.
3. When we flew from Gatwick I checked the rates and they were not the same as the London city branches but were much more in line with other tourist rates. I don't believe that these count as 'London branches' for the special offer but I didn't actually try.

Simon, you're correct, you cannot claim any special offers with TTT in the airport, the only way to get the specials is to go to one of their shops in London.
