I went into BJ's today to grab a couple things. I wasn't planning to getting the Lion King DVD from there since we were going to go to the Disney Store this weekend. I happen to glance at the display....Lion King $17.99 with $3.00 instant rebate...You pay $14.99!!! Once I send it the $5.00 refund from Disney, it will bring the cost down to $9.99!! :bounce:

Where did you get the $5 coupon from Disney? This sounds like a great deal!!

Inside the DVD box, there is a booklet with coupons. One of the coupons is for a $5.00 rebate from Disney if you also own the VHS copy!!! :bounce:

Could you explain the $5.00 coupon for me? I would think that the only way you can prove that you own it on VHS is to have your reciept but I bought it sooooo long ago I know I don't have it! So what do they require for the $5.00 coupon? Thanks

They need the proof of purchase off the VHS copy,(if you don't have the proof of purchase tab, you can use the UPC), the proof of purchase of the DVD copy along with the receipt for the DVD, not from the VHS. :hyper: Follow that?? Also, if you preordered the DVD of Lion King, it is not eligible!! :earseek: It says for purchases between 10/7/03 - 10/7/04 (dirty pool if you ask me!!).

Even without the $5 rebate.. that's a pretty good deal!

Yippee!

 Well that really makes me MAD!
We preordered the DVD when we were in WDW for $24.99. Now we got a pin and a little stuffed Simba with that. But I am beginning to think that I would have rather paid $15 and gotten $5 back.

I just bought it at Walmart.....$13.72!!! They have the DVD for the same price as VHS for release week! With $5 back from old VHS....woohooo!! gotta love Walmart....:smooth:

I bought it a tthe CC sale with a free radio and earbuds included, although that was only while supplies lasted. If that had not been available I might have gone to the next town to get the WalMart deal instead.

DH said Toys R Us has a special if you buy the LK you can get another selected WDW video for $5.

I had a buy $20 get $10 off coupon for the CVS drugstore and used it to pick up my Lion King DVD... so it only cost me $11.60!

Now to turn in the $5 rebate!!

I did the Toys R Us deal last night. Their other Disney DVDs were pretty picked over by now but I ended up with the Lion King and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for $26 and change. Not too bad since both films retail at $19.99 each.

Yipee!

I also did the Toys R Us deal and got LK and Sleeping Beauty for 24.99 + tax...WOW what a deal!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I always miss out on specials because I pre-order! Must stop doing this. I actually bought a second DVD for Stitch and returned it after I made the copy so I could get the refund on that one.

We bought ours at Toys R Us, bought Lion King, Sleeping Beauty and Winnie the Pooh for $45, then sent in the "Buy 3, Get one Free" Disney offer... So for $47 we got Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Winnie the Pooh and Hunchback of Notre Dame....

hygienejean:

Did the sleeping Beauty DVD have the $5 rebate coupon from Disney in it too? TIA

Shannon

Not quite as good as some of the earlier posts, but we got Lion King at Target for $15.99. Box had an instant coupon for a 2-liter bottle of soda. Plus can still use the $5.00 coupon.

Does anyone know if you could photocopy your store receipts and send them in for the rebates? The DVD insert states no photocopy of the certificate, but doesn't state the receipts.
