Hi Fellow DIS'ers!
Just a quick post to let folks know that I just got a GREAT rental car deal for Dec 14th - Dec 21st, 2010 at Enterprise Rental car at the airport (MCO).
$175.00 for a convertible (Chrysler Sebring or Ford Mustang) INCLUDING taxes and fees! The deal is $99 for a week and with the airport taxes and fees, the total came out to $175.34. (Normally this type fo vehicle goes for about $600 for a week!!) I checked the other Enterprise agencies in the area and they are not running this same promotion, it appears that it is only valid if you rent from the Orlando International Airport location (MCO).
Don't know how long this deal will be around for, but I hope someone else out there on the boards can take advantage of this. :cool1:

Have a Magical Day! :wizard:

Great rate. Did you use any codes? Also, any feedback on renting from Enterprise? We've never used them. It appears they want a credit card hold. Does anyone know how difficult ut is to cancel? Thanks

No codes needed :)
My husband and I have used Enterprise many times in the past without any complaints. We've never had a problem cancelling a revervation with them either.
Also, just so you know, you do not have to enter a credit card number on their website to book the car. They only ask you what type of card you will be using (Mastercard, Visa etc.) There is no deposit required and you are only charged for the rental car when you return it at the end of your vacation. There is no penalty for cancelling the reservation either.
In my experience with renting rental cars, deals come and go so frequently that if you find a good deal jump on it. It doesn't cost you anything and the deal might be gone tomorrow.
Good Luck!!

:)

Thanks, so much! I just booked it. Should be fun to have a convertible!

Special seems to be gone already. :confused3 Just tried for 12/11 - 12/18 and it came out to $660. When I tried to recreate it with your dates, it was still $660.

The trick to these cheap Enterprise rates is to make your reservation for more than six days - eg. six days and one hour. You can get an even slightly cheaper rate - $94 per week at http://www.carrentalsavers.com.

Update: Seems good for up to 30 days if you do not use an exact day - e.g. 1pm to 1pm. Try modifying your times slightly if you can not get the rate.

Looks like it is working from Oct 1st all the way through Dec. 15th - great deal.

Wow, thanks for the tip. I didn't get the same deal you got (we are going in January) however I was amazed by how low the car rental price dropped just by adding an hour to the reservation. Almost $400 to $205!!

Thanks so much for sharing!:hippie:

Thanks OP!
---Edited--just changed my booking and got it for $175 total through carrentalsavers!---
Booked it Dec 11-Dec 19 for $190 total! The cheapest I had found up to this point was a compact through Alamo for $215.
Oh and they actually do put a 'hold' on your credit card when u pick up the car. My confirmation says total rental price, plus 20%.

We were given a convertible (mustang) on our last trip although we rented a compact. We enjoyed it. However, we like to use our credit card as our extra insurance, since our car insurance doesn't cover time out of service, and were told by our credit card that neither convertibles or 15 pass vans (or any 'special' car) were covered. That came as a bit of a surprise. It came up when I needed to call the credit card for another reason, and the gal on the phone was asking if we had rented a car out of state on our car(making sure no one else was using our card). I asked to speak to her supervisor because, well, I thought she had her info wrong, and she said that was correct.
I guess before I rent again, I need to make sure my regular car insurance covers us for those type of cars.

Thank you...Thank you...Thank you...to the OP. I was able to get a convertible for $227 for 10 days! Does anyone know if Enterprise charges extra $$ for a spouse to drive? I have never rented from them before.

Wow- Convertibles are only $143.49 a week in Nov. through Enterprise. I know we wouldn't use it but maybe someone else can.

Thank you so much for posting this. I just got the rate of $94 per week for 11/24-12/4 for a total of $243.05!!!

The only thing I don't know is how much luggage these vehicles will hold. Anyone have any idea. The Enterprise website does not tell you anything about the convertibles that I've been able to find. Of course that was the first question DH asked...we are putting a 4 night cruise on the Wonder in the middle of our trip.

Aww, I don't see it anymore...even thru the link posted. :guilty:

But thank you to the OP for the heads up!!!

EDIT: ooohhh! I see it! yay.

I went with Alamo instead, it was about $30 cheaper!! yayaya! (using Costco codes)

Thanks for the tip. I got one for $149.28 for a week. I LOVE a bargain.
