Has anyone ever had their hair cut there? I'm getting desperate and I figure I could get in there tomorrow, not to mention they are SUPER cheap. I don't want to be so cheap that I end up with a terrible cut though. Any experiences?

I go to one near me that is hardly ever crowded. They do a great job with my hair, and they love to do my daughters as well.

I am pretty selective about my daughters hair after a few mishaps.

They do a good job.. its pretty limited stuff=cut wash dry or just cut.

Thanks for the info guys. Any other experiences? Glad to hear 2 positives (plus kids) Maybe I will just try to head over there tomorrow. I figure if it turns out terribly that DMiL can do repair work this weekend (she does her own and her daughter's, but doesn't feel comfortable with the cut I want-but she could probably get it bearable)

My DD's and I have been going there for about 3 years. I've had cuts and perms there and never had a problem.

Can you not get in with your usual hairdresser? Or do you not have one yet? I've got a name and number I can give you - she is WONDERFUL!

I used Great Clips for a basic trim in Hickory last week, but that is the most I've done. I still come up the mountain for a real hair cut, color and perm.

Well, I've always seen the same lady, but as I get older and know more specifically what I want, she hasn't done it. I think we don't communicate well. She does her interpretation of what I mean, if that makes sense. I only need a cut, which is why I'm willing to give it a try (maybe). I really want to just do it quickly so I don't keep putting it off, again why I was thinking about there. I figure I can get in tomorrow without too much problem.

I take my sons there sometimes. They do a good job. I don't go there though. My hair is too complicated.

I've been having my hair cut at Great Clips for the past 6 months or so. My regular stylist that I had been going to for many, many years had broken her arm and wasn't able to cut hair for a few weeks. I really needed a cut so I figured I'd try my local Great Clips just once and then go back to my regular stylist. Well, the girl I got at GC did as good a job as my regular stylist so I've been going back to GC for half the price of my old salon!

I don't know if this is the same throughout the southeast but on the receipt you get there's a number to call for a survey and they give you a validation code good for $2.00 off your next haircut. I thought this might be a one-shot deal but I've gotten it on my receipt after each haircut I've gotten.

I'm a Great Clips fan!

I sent you her info just in case.

I see in your photo that your hair is long. How are you wanting it cut?

As a hairdresser, I think many hairdressers get "lost" in long hair. So, I think it depends on what you are wanting done.
And short hair is so easily screwed up, it isn't funny. If it a cut that needs cleaning up, so often they skip that part. Drives me nuts! Clean up your cuts!! I could walk around with my scissors "cleaning up the world"! LOL

I've never had a bad cut there, same with my daughter. Our hair is very easy to cut though, and inch off the bottom and trim and thin the bangs.

I've gone there a few times. The last time I got my hair cut about 2 months ago, I went from long, straight, blunt cut to a short, layered, cute, trendy look and the stylist did a WONDERFUL job. I even had a $4.99 coupon and she was still willing to blow dry and style it.

I'm going to be a big fat negative for Great Clips. DH used to get his hair cut there- just a simple cut. It was always bad.

Now, I just got a job in a salon (same one I always go to anyway- might as well get free haircuts!). I have only worked 4 days, and so far we have had 3 people thatI saw come in to get their hair "fixed" after a bad cut at Great Clips.

Uh, you may be biased.

My whole family gets their hair cut at Great Clips, including my DD with the extremely curly hair. Never had a bad cut in a few years. One time the stylist refused to cut how my wife asked to have it done - he said it would not look good. My wife thanked him, left, and then went back the next night and got the cut she wanted... She wasn't terribly happy, but was at least impressed the stylist stuck to his guns.
