My family are big breakfast lovers. I was wonder what restaurants serve really great breakfast. The traditional things along with some foods are not to be missed. Thanks

Boma has the best buffet and breakfast items in all of disney.
I have not heard one person say anything bad about it on these boards.
At Boma they serve your normal breakfast foods but at supper they serve African foods.
At breakfast your can get the normal stuff bacon, eggs, and wonderful fresh fruit.
My favorite thing about it was that you can make your own omlette. Also while you are
at the resort you can see some of the animals.

Absolutely, positively - Boma's has the best breakfast buffet!

Kona Cafe at the Polynesian is wonderful for breakfast. It's not a buffet...good in our book. They are famous for their Tonga Toast but everything we've tried there has been very good. Service is friendly and fast. When you finish, you can walk 30 or 40 feet and board the monorail to MK.:D

I have heard so much about the Tonga Toast. It sounds like a great dish. I will have to check to see what time the resort restaurants begin opening. We will have our own car and we are staying at the Swan. Thanks for the information everyone.

Here are my favorite spots:

Buffets: Boma and the Maya Grill. Yacht Club galley also has one, but not quite on par with the other 2.

Table Service: Kona at the Poly and Boatwright's. At Boatwrights they have something called the Blueprint Omelette--up to a dozen ingredients possible, including 4 kinds of cheese!!

Should add that Olivia's has a pretty good table service breakfast, and tho I haven't been there since they got rid of their buffet, Spoodles still has a large following.

All in all, if you are a big breakfast lover, you should do quite well!!

Our favorite breakfast is by far Crystal Palace...... YUM!!!!

...try one of these ...

The Grand Floridian Cafe Heaping helpings of eggs, hashbrown sides the size of hubcaps, plentiful (and fresh) orange juice, and an idyllic setting all make for a great start to a great day. The tab, alas, can also be great. Expect to spend $12-15 or more pp.

Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge The wait staff's schtick can be a little irritating if you haven't had your first cup of coffee yet, but the food is REALLY good: steaming pans of eggs, sausage and bacon, served smack dab in the middle of yer table, plus a little table on the side with cereal and yogurt. I believe it's all you can eat. The energy here can be infectious, and get you rarin' to go for a day in the parks.

For the best value - try the breakfast buffet at Pioneer Hall in Fort Wilderness. A traditional breakfast with many choices. We love it there!

:bounce: My all-time favorite is 1900 Park Fare/Grand Floridian - the ambience, characters and delectable breakfast is too die for!!! Last year in July I did have breakfast at the Contemporary and there was a nice variety, however, the food was a little cold. Also, the Crystal Palace and Cinderella's castle are enjoyable and provide good quality/tasty food. I know your mom wants to do CR - and I think you need to do what she likes for Mother's Day but if you could convince her otherwise I would do 1900 Park Fare - your original plan. Enjoy!

My families votes are for 1900 Park Fare and 'Ohana. They definitely have a different atmosphere, so it's all in what you're looking for. Both are character breakfasts, and most CB serve the same food. Some have "make your omelette" like 1900 and Bomas, others are family style ('Ohana, Garden Grille) and not buffet (Crystal Palace, 1900).

We were at WDW in February and met the authors of "Walt Disney World for Couples" and after talking with them on the bus from BC to MK, I got tons of info. (They said their book is more geared toward restaurants and their food than rides, in case you're interested in picking it up for their top picks). They were finishing their last few meals at WDW for their next book (due out in July) and they said their favorites are Bomas, Spoodles, Jikos.

I figure that since they eat at WDW each year to rate the restaurants for their latest book, they'd know the food better than anyone. Hope this helps.

My Wife had the Tonga Toast on our last trip and she just loved it. ( I also tried some of it and loved it ). We also ate at Spoodles and loved it also.
