Hi
We're going to be in Disney for my birthday next year :cool1: and would love somewhere nice to have lunch and dinner - possibly the lunch one being a character one?

We will be with our son so not somewhere too fancy like V&A but ideas for some places which will help add to a memorable day?

Im not going to book them - my boyfriend is going to suprise me - but we decided we would ask the experts on here for advise and recommendations and then he will sort it out :)

We went here last year for my birthday. Have your boyfriend call ahead of time and ask about getting one of the divers to dive for your birthday and have him ask about the special designed menu. It is all very special. I was pleasantly surprised and my kids loved the diver in the tank.

I am going to agree with the pp on Coral Reef - we were not able to get the diver either but we are doing the personalized menu's and also are having a personalized birthday cake which will more than make up for it!

Don't forget to pick up your birthday pin as well.

I celebrated my bd just 2 weeks ago with a late dinner at Calif Grill :goodvibes
My family requested window seating with a 9:40 pm reservation so we would be able to view Wishes! It was wonderful. They even held our entree at our request so we could enjoy the fireworks without the worry of food getting cold ;)
They not only pipe in the Wishes music to the restaurant, but you can go out on the walkway to view with music as well.
Also had a CM taking pictures of those celebrating milestones and e-mailed my family pic to me. :woohoo:
Was a great experience and something I will never forget (even tho I have been there many times before)

just me

I can second Coral Reef for dinner. Surprisingly good food and nice views of the tank.

For lunch, and I don't even know if they serve lunch, since I've only been there for dinner, would be Chef Mickeys. The food isn't much to write home about, but the characters are awesome. Goofy, Mickey, Chip and Dale, Minnie, and even Donald (who isn't necessarily everywhere at WDW) is at Chef Mickeys.

So, to me, Coral Reef has good food and good views. Chef Mickeys has great character interaction.

Thank you for all your replies - I will be passing them on to other half, I had already mentioned about the diver and personalised menu and he said because I knew it wouldn't be a suprise - but I said it would because until the day I wouldnt know where we were going and also it would still be wonderful :)

The Calif Grill sounds wonderful for the fireworks and maybe one to consider - with the advice of the wonderful people on here Im sure he will be able to come up with something brilliant :rotfl:
