Gray magic bands are free?

This is on Disney website today. Now I’m really confused. Thought you had to buy them?

I mean to say that way the info is stated is inaccurate and outdated.

Then I guess Disney needs it’s website updated to report accurate information. Or maybe the gray ones are free? How do we know they aren’t if stated on MDE?

Far from being an anomaly, the Disney website is, sadly, infamous for its history of posted inaccuracies.
Historically, the info is often poorly edited, and/or its updates are slow to be posted and are too often incomplete.

Yes, and I’m sure buses start running 30 minutes before park opening.

And guests for the Halloween and Christmas parties can arrive at the park at 7pm, not 4pm.

And you have to have a dining reservation to visit a resort other than your own.

At least free magic bands are still true for some people (those who booked before the announcement).

Disney does not have the best track record for accurate info. I don’t know how I’d make heads or tails of anything without disboards!

The solid color magic bands are $5 with a resort reservation. Look at the magic band section of MDE where you pick your magic bands.

Grey were free for APs at least at the start of Jan .... other solids and special designs could still be pre-ordered at a discount

ETA: Not sure if it’s just a glitch, but as an AP holder, still shows colored MB’s are free. I did not try checking out though.



ETA: Went to the ‘confirm order’ screen and it confirms price. I don’t want them, so I’m not going to order, but here’s the final screen before ordering:
