My first trip to California will be next May, I plan on arriving on a Saturday and doing Disneyland Sat and Sun and then I'd like to visit the San Diego Zoo, and then do Disney for the remainder of my stay.
I'll be travelling solo and will not have a car. I looked at the Gray Line website and they have a tour to the Zoo
Has anyone used Gray Line to go to the Zoo or are there other tour groups out there to consider?

I don't know if anyone ever answered you privately, but are you still planning on going to DL in May of 2009? That's when my daughter and I want to go, we are still debating on whether to base out of San Diego or Anaheim. Anyway, we also would not be renting a car, and are also interested in bus tours!

Let me know if you found anything out? Thanks and have fun!

I have used grayline on several occasions from anaheim and found it quite pleasant. :thumbsup2 We have used the univeral tour, the seaworld tour and the zoo tour. The bus transportation can usually be arranged at the front desk of your hotel. The bus picks you up at the hotel or sometimes near by, takes you to the grayline desk where you purchase your ticket or trade in your voucher from the hotel. You are then directed to the correct bus and depart. The drivers are very friendly, sharing tourist info along the way. It's a bit of a ride but we enjoyed the scenery. We had plenty of time at the locations, then boarded the bus home. Which is nice cause you are usually tired. The buses drop you at your hotel.:wave2:

I appreciate your input. How much are these tours, typically? Thanks again! Kelly

It's been a year or two since we did them but you can go to their website to check for the specific tours and rates. I think we paid like $60-$70 a piece depending on the tour. Which covers your transportation and tickets into the park. I believe we were able to use our AAA card for a discount as well.:drive:

Good luck.
