I'm afraid I might have this. Can anyone tell me of any experiences/outcome. Thanks.

I was diagnosed May of 05. I tried the 9 months of tapazole for cure. It did not work. My dr. didn't think it would because my levels were so high, but I liked that option better over the surgery or radioactive iodine. I know take the same amount of Tapazole today as I did trying for the cure and it seems to keep my levels normal. I will say that I have NEVER felt the same since I was diagnosed. :guilty: I am always tired and dragging. Here's hoping you don't have it and if you have any other questions let me know.

I had it in my early teens and was successfully treated with radioactive iodine. I remember being tired, but jittery, my eyes didn't bulge out, but they looked big. I was really thin and ate like a teenage boy and my thyroid was inflamed, leaving a slight visable lump in my neck. I can't recall any bad side effects from the iodine, but to this day small metal pieces (like black sand at the beach) stick to my body as if I were a magnet.

I started having to supplement with Levothroid about 10 years ago, about 15 years after being treated.
