We are leaving this week and we have a DDP. I have a question about the new bill you recieve after dining. Do they calculate the amount you SHOULD leave as a tip and put it on the bill, or do they leave it up to me to figure out? I have no problem figuring out the tip. The problem is that they don't put the actual dollar amount for the meal on the slip (at least they didn't before the change in the plan, the slip would say $0). It's kind of hard to figure out the tip if you don't know how much the meal actually cost.

Anyone who has experienced the new system and has insights into this would be very helpful.

Moving to the dining plan board.

If your party is 6 people or more it won't really matter, because they'll automatically charge you an 18% gratuity.

However, for DDP Guests reading this thread whose parties consist of five or fewer diners: Your initial slip will show the prices, the total, and the actual dollar amount of 18% and 20% gratuities; however, for these diners it is just for assistance/suggestion. They will still be able to decide how much to tip.

Note on the OP's post - the original slip you get anyway, SHOULD show the prices.

Don't worry they will calculate the 18% and 20% for you.

Yes, you will initially get a slip with all the prices. Then when they bring the slips back fr signing, you get a zeroed out one. They will also let you keep a copy of the slip with prices if you ask. I did that all week and was never told no.

Makes it easier to figure out how much we saved on the plan.

Just got back from Disney On your ticket it will conviently have 18 and 20 % on there so you don't have to think about it (tip).

Okay, I just booked a 7 day land and sea package with the basic dining plan. We wanted to do the deluxe plan, but Disney doesn't allow the DxDDP with the land/sea package.

My question is this. How difficult is it when you're checking out? If you get items (like appetizer or cocktails) not on the plan and when they add the gratuity, how clear is the receipt? Can I charge it on my KTTW card, or do I have to pay the OOP items and gratuities with cash or CC?

Thanks!
Kristi

How is the tip paid? Through a charge to your room or can you pay cash?
