Hi Everyone!!:flower3: Well my DH told me a couple monthes ago that we maybe moving to dallas,tx and living in the neighbor hood of grapevine. We currently live in Atlanta,ga I'm not to happy about I'm from miami and moved to ga when I was still in high school so it's only my mom and me from my side of the family. And I don't really wanna leave her by herself but I don't really have a choice. So what I'm trying to say is anyone live there? Anyone vist before or know anyone that lives there? I've never been to tx before so I don't know what I'm in for so anything would be great!! Thank you!! :flower3:

Grapevine isn't a neighborhood of Dallas. It's actually not even in Dallas County but in Tarrant County and closer to Fort Worth than Dallas. I live in Ft Worth but grew up in Dallas (much much prefer Ft Worth, btw).

I like visiting Grapevine but don't know anyone that lives there. It's become a small tourist stop with a Gaylord, large indoor outlet/retail mall, Great Wolf Lodge, quaint downtown area, lots of wineries, Bass Pro Shop, and Lake Grapevine. There is also a train that runs between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards that is pretty popular with tourists and families.

Your best bet is to come take a visit. If he's working in Grapevine, I'd seriously consider moving there or someplace close as traffic can be awful in most areas of DFW.

Well at least GA to TX isn't as much of a culture shock as say NY to TX. :wizard: Who knows, maybe once you're settled and mom comes to vist she may like it well enough to move to Texas to be with you.
Best wishes to you!

Grapevine is where I originally wanted to move because I like the area so much. It's well wooded (not always the case in north Texas) and just a nice area. The old downtown area is fun and you're close to DFW airport and relatively close to Fort Worth. Fort Worth has nicer museums and zoo and I personally prefer FW to Dallas.

Welcome! At least the extreme heat won't come as a shock to you.

I have lived in this area for 6 years. Depending on where your husband will work, there are many nice areas to consider. We live in Keller, Texas and have some of the best schools around. Southlake is a very nice area too, but very expensive. Good luck in on your move.;)
