Grapefruit Cake: other than Brown Derby?

Can the grapefruit cake at the Brown Derby be ordered "to go"?

And is it available anywhere else, maybe at the Starring Rolls Bakery?

Yes, you can get a piece of the grapefruit cake at the bakery next door. It is not on there menu, just ask one of the servers and they will go next door and get you a piece ( or pieces ). We always have to get a piece on every trip.

thanks, ron, for your quick reply - i thought you could buy a slice of the grapefruit cake next door at starring rolls bakery, but just wanted to be sure (for our upcoming trip!)

I am glad to know that too. I was just down there and had dinner at the Brown Derby and tried the Grapefruit cake for the first time. Very citrusy flavored as you would expect. Our meal, while being good and having no problems with the service, I felt was very expensive. Will not be doing that again.

i agree about the food being expensive there - my husband & i ate at the brown derby last year (had the cobb salad, with the grapefruit cake for dessert) - going back this summer with my son, but only wanted to have the grapefruit cake again - looking forward to getting a slice at the bakery!

Thanks for that tip! Just wish they would get "real" coffee at the bakery as well. Its a great place to stop and relax. Love the baked goods there but not the coffee.
